Well, what can I say? After watching the trailer, I binged the entire first season of Rapman's Supacell in one sitting. I'm excited to do the same for season 2 and see where the story goes. It reminded me of Top Boy and Misfits but with its own unique style. If you enjoyed those series, this is definitely worth a watch. The show has intriguing characters and a compelling storyline.
If you're a film junkie like myself then you'll appreciate the time and effort that Rapman and everyone else put in to make this happen.
I enjoyed it. Not my place to say where it could have been improved. It is what it is.
Thank you.

I'm sure I'm not the first to make this comparison, but this show "borrows" so much from the 2006 NBC show "Heroes" its hard not to. Like, the time-related premise of the first season is literally ripped straight from season one of Heroes. The whole interconnected stories of different people whose paths eventually cross, some hand-wave explanation of how they acquired said powers, it has all been done before. I don't think this is neccesarily a bad show, but as it stands currently it just really doesn't do anything original enough to make it stand out from all the other shows about superpowers. If you haven't seen "Heroes" then you might enjoy this show, but as superhero shows go its just alright.
This feels like a comic literally put on screen without adapting. So many plot holes and scenes that just wouldn't happen (even without the powers) but overall still fun.
Nice to see some good representation and the acting is good. The biggest let down is the awful black stereotypes put on display. This was a great chance to dispel some of those old myths but this just reinforces the young gangster vibes, the deadbeat dad, the difficult woman who is also just a push over for her man etc. Could have used the chance so much better.
Saving grace is that the story is fun and makes for easy going watching.
Not original, a lot lifted from other shows like Misfits but still good fun.

Supacell deserves a 6.8 at minimum!!! I just finished it, and really really enjoyed it. I'm a sci-fi connoisseur, especially British sci-fi. I'm glad I took a chance on it, even though it had a 5.8 when I started it. Based on the description I was initially worried that this would just be a knockoff of the cult classic Misfits, but I was pleasantly surprised!!! I would consider it a mix of Misfits and The Lazarus Project, but with its own intense atmosphere.
One of the main characters is part of a violent gang, and that's an intense part of the plot. I'm a privileged white American who's never been impacted by gang violence so I can't speak to how accurate of a portrayal this was. But it FELT very real to me. I feel like I got a small window into what that life might be like. Tosin Cole was excellent, and you really feel emotionally invested in his quest. The actress who played Sabrina was great as well. The VFX and SFX for the superpowers were awesome, and most of the acting was pretty good. It has plot holes, as others have said, and parts are predictable. But it was engaging and enjoyable, which is what we all want at the end of the day.

First of all, the plot is something quite different. Sure superpowers have been in multiple movies and tv series, but in these tv series, the whole plot adds something very different and unique. The execution could have been better in some parts, but in general it was a really nice and interesting show to watch! I binge watched it. Furthermore, as a white person, I do appreciate and really like the diversity! We need more series with black people. Also, I don't quite understand the whole picture yet, but I am very eager to see what is next. There needs to be a second season and why not more. You need to watch these tv series!

- CuriosidadesThe series was announced as commissioned by Netflix in November 2021 with Mouktar Mohammed and Henrietta Lee of New Wave as executive producer and associate producer. The executive producers are Anna Ferguson and Steve Searle of Netflix with Mark Hedges as series producer. The production used a specialized ARRI 35 camera which has been designed to show Black skin in the best and most complimentary way.
- PifiasIn the final battle scene Michael begs Dionne to get in the car and drive to hospital. But he had already shown that in battle he could grab people in an instant and take them anywhere and be straight back. Considering the whole season was about saving Dionne's life it was odd he didn't just teleport her to safety then head straight back.
