This series could have been a great production but unfortunately it disappoints in the end. Very good locations and the plot is well built but the casting is very weak and the scenes of
action are not well achieved. I will give it a 6. It seems that it was created to make shine William Levy, unnecessary and not credible sex scenes. There is no chemistry between the main characters, lack of emotion and credibility in a lot of scenes and actors/actresses.
The production company has been very brave by adapting a classing book into a modern and contemporary story.

Umm
Mmmmmmmm no no no. I am
A big fan of the story, the book and all of them movies that they played in the past. Also loved the Jim caviezel one with Guy pierce. It was exciting to watch it glued you to the screen. It was exciting to see how he would plot his revenge. And disguise himself as as The count of montecristo. But this miniseries lost me. As others have pointed out they modernized it and it lost its touch plus. It's not exciting at all just a bunch of sex scenes like others have commented and I agree that were not necessary to see William levy having. I do like him but not for this role I am sorry to say I also like Esmeralda pimentel and I thought she was pretty good but not enough to save this....
Very bad bad bad bad at times I would lose track in what I was watching it's awful would not recommend unless you want to see William levy have sex with everyone.
This is by far the worst novel adaption I've seen in my entire life. It is an insult to the original work of art from Dumas. I was full of expectation when I saw that there was a new adaption of the Count of Monte Cristo. This feeling changed very quickly when I started waching the first episode. They tried to bring the actual story from the 18th century to the present day, that might not be the actual problem but the story, the screenplay and the acting performance overall are very bad and disappointing. This series is the worst I can remember. I have to admit that I'm an big fan of the original work of Alexandre Dumas, so probably my expectations were a little too high, but this series is just a disgrace in many ways. I liked very much the film from 2002 starring Jim Caviezel and Guy Pierce. I also liked the french version with Gerard Depardieu. But this one, I'm sorry, but I couldn't imagine something worse. Watching the 6 episodes were an authentic waste of time... I gave 2 stars for some pretty landscapes appearing which was the only nice thing I can remember...
I completely agree with the original comment regarding the series being an excellent adaptation of "The Count of Monte Cristo". The production value was truly exceptional, and the performances given by the actors were top-notch. William Levy's portrayal of the main character was particularly noteworthy - it was arguably his best performance to date. However, it would be remiss not to mention the talented Esmeralda Pimentel, who delivered a fantastic performance as well.
The series adaptation stayed true to the essence of the classic novel, while also managing to bring a fresh perspective to the story. It was gripping and kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. I found the storyline to be well-crafted, and the pacing was just right - it never felt too slow or too rushed.
Regarding the negative comments, I couldn't agree more with the original poster's statement. It's unfortunate that some people feel the need to leave negative comments just for the sake of causing trouble. I would highly recommend giving this series a chance, as it's truly entertaining and well worth the watch. In short, the "Count of Monte Cristo" adaptation is a superb production that deserves all the accolades it can get.

Boring, unengaging and predictable.
William Levy is a wanna-be James Bond whose acting skills are nowhere up to par with the actors in those movies. His acting is very dull, robotic and to top it off he has not learned how to properly enunciate after twenty years of career. Just because he appears shirtless any chance he has does not make this series any better. On top of all, Esmeralda Pimentel and William have very little chemistry.
The poor dialogues, bad action scenes and vulgar sex scenes end up making this a series that is just not worth recommending. It underdelivers as a thriller and as an action series. Hard to understand how you can mess up a classic such as The Count of Montecristo, but this "modern" series misshandled the core of the story quite badly and tried to compensate with by using William's body as bait. In conclusion, a flop.
