I had the opportunity to see Phantom in cinema and streaming and each time I was very excited. So much for the story, the setting, and the incredible acting and singing from the entire cast. Getting to see stories in various timelines that make you understand. Phantom combines romance, music, horror, mystery, and tragedy all captivating you. From knowing the story behind the main character where I also cried and laughed to many other scenes. I managed to appreciate Erik's heart and motives, it doesn't justify it but I do understand it. Much of the responsibility for this lies with society and the decisions that adults made. Highly recommended.
This musical is beautiful. All great actors and vocals. It takes you on a touching and heartfelt journey. I'm so happy I get to watch it whenever I want. It moves me to tears everytime. I love the storytelling, it really engages you and keeps you interested. I think anyone that appreciates a good story can get much value from this, even if they are not familiar with musicals. I watched with family and they loved it too. This musical really feels like a safe place to always return to. There is romance, comedy, drama, even action, and of course a display of everything art should be. All elements, acting, stage, costume, songs, vocals come together beautifully. I love it so much.
Finally a lush, stunning-produced, star-studded Broadway-quality (or better?) production of Phantom, the "other" musical version of Phantom of the Opera. For those who don't know, this musical was Broadway-bound in the 1980s until the Andrew Lloyd Webber version premiered in London; investors backed out when they realized Webber was bringing his version to Broadway. Phantom has gorgeous break-your-heart music, a clear storyline that actually focuses on the Phantom, a complex man who the audience gets to know very well. The cast is unbelievable. Cho Kyuhyun, "the voice of Korea", and one of the main vocalists of the beloved legendary K-pop group Super Junior, brings the passion, complexity, pathos, and effortless powerful golden vocals to the title role. The other cast members are equally flawless, vocally and acting-wise. Of note, this version, produced 4 times (so far) in Seoul, has added a touch of music -- even more songs for the Phantom in particular. The phantom is humanized without loosing his passion and mystery, Christine is also given more agency and incredible music to sing, and the love triangle (a new character named Phillipe vs Raoul) is believable. There are additional characters and plot that heighten the gothic drama and give the main characters more motivation for their actions. I think this is THE definitive version of Phantom of the opera anywhere (screen, theatre, novel-form) and this production couldn't be better. Don't miss it!
This musical made into a movie was incredible, from the cast and protagonist Kyuhyun to the performances, stages and of course the musical performances with the orchestra. Everything was very well done and I loved seeing Phantom from the most human perspective.
Kyuhyun's acting doesn't disappoint and his voice in musicals shows his more professional side, I'm amazed.
Korean productions are finally being appreciated.
Thank you for bringing this Korean production to Latin America.
I hope there will be more Korean musical films like Werther, Frankenstein, The man who laugs and the most recent production that will be released in September this year: Ben Hur, which has Kyuhyun as the protagonist again.

Although I did not know this version of the musical, I realized that it is wonderful. He is a much more human and warm version of Erik, he made me feel many emotions at the same time. The songs are beautiful, the scenery and performances incredible. Especially the stellar Kyuhyun, he has an amazing voice, his performance moved me to tears, and Christine's voice was amazing, the soprano is on the level of Broadway actors. I liked it much better than The Phantom of the Opera.
I loved Erik's scene with Christine on the little boat, when he takes her to his secret hideout. It's such a beautiful song, I could feel Erik's feelings towards Christine, the set design was perfect, and the lighting was too professional.
