Trifole

A film that transports one into the hills and lifestyle of Le Langhe of the Piedmont of Italy. Trifole brought me back to my Piemonte with extraordinary detail. It also exemplifies an old tradition that continues to survive, although with struggle. The struggle is exemplified with "real-life" characters, including a dog that has mastered acting without trying. The script is extraordinarily enhanced by a beautiful music score, unlike any other I've heard. The music still plays in my mind. Trifore is a film for everyone who appreciates nature, cross-generational, traditional, humanistic values. Any age group can learn from and appreciate Trifole.

Gabriele's vision and visual storytelling is always engaging, and brings a quiet elegance that's pervasive throughout.

Stunning visuals of the Italian countryside are accompanied by a beautifully composed and soaring soundtrack. The authentic atmosphere is as much a character in this film as the leads.

The unexpected ending shows the triumph of family love and support through challenging times, which rings true for most. And of course, Birba makes the film, exposing it's heart and also the violence that accompanies truffle hunters in the region.

Catch this one if you love family, truffles, dogs and Italy, and you won't be disappointed.

Authentic is the perfect adjective to describe this movie. The topics that it covers are authentic and the descriptions of the places and people are so real you almost feel transported to the film.

There is no presumption of wanting to tell a story that cannot be, but there is the desire to convey a message or perhaps more than one: that we are made of tradition, of fears, of the need for stability and rediscovery, but above all of affection.

Colors and sounds perfectly accompany a film with autumnal vibes in which no detail is left to chance. The delicacy in the story of Gabriele Fabbro, director of the film, shines through the representation of a fascinated gaze that almost leads to stepping aside in front of nature.
