Tactics Ogre Reborn is what happens when a Japanese developer look at the war that happened in Yugoslavia, And the disintegrating that happened after the dictator death.
After the King died the many ethnic groups begin surviving for power on the island. In a bloody Civil War you Play as Denam and have to find out what kind of resistance fighter you will be.
And it is willing to go really dark places, the first moral choice is a knife to that Gut, The characters are good and feel like people in this world that are reacting to terrible happening. Each character has their own moral compass and just very good written all around.
Gameplay is Tactical RPG with a lot of classes. The surprising part is that they are really wall balanced. There are some super classes later in the game but each has its strength and weaknesses and is fun to find overpowered combinations.
And the game is very balanced when it comes to time investment to make a unit good. It is not a grind fest you can very fast make it another and have fun.
The difficult is very precisely set. You can never get too overpowered because there is a level cap, it makes it so that you know that you can't level your way out of it. You have to think your way out of a bad situation.
The music is great and has some really soothing and heartfelt symphonies. Character art is great, it lands a place between realistic, but styleized. It's pretty and gives a lot of character way.
It's a game with a very human conflict As Old As Time itself, and it tells you to spectacularly. It's an old classic that has gotten a new form and it's worth playing. Would recommend.
