Fire ass show
Damn good show. Entertaining as hell. Vince nails the surrealist vibe with this and tells stories the way they were intended to be told. No BS, crazy experiences, and at the end of the day you just go home and chill. The show is the real deal. Dialogue is absolutely on point, to the point you forget you are watching a show. Everything is very intended and adds to the episode. The weird unexplained characters and antics are exactly what I want in entertainment. I did not even listen to Vince staples before I watched the show and I still love it. This is one of the few shows on Netflix that is leaps and bounds better than anything else on the platform.
A Future Classic - We Need More!
I gotta say, The Vince Staples show is a future classic in the making! To me, it takes inspiration from classic Black sitcoms like Martin and The Jamie Foxx Show in terms of its sitcom-like scenarios as well as animated series like The Boondocks with its quizzical deconstruction of the African American experience. Don't let the heavy subtext scare you though, even to a causal audience, this show is too funny.
Building on top of the YouTube miniseries, The Vince Staples show on Netflix acts like a sort of continuation of that random comedy we've come to know and love from the rapper. Being both socially aware and outwardly cartoonish, the social commentary is cool and thought-provoking, without being too preachy.
The show's, witty dialogue in this show is on point! It'll have you laughing and nodding along. The storytelling style is unique too, kind of like Twin Peaks or an anthology series. And Vince Staples himself? He's got that deadpan comedic timing down perfectly. Episode 2 had me laughing out loud and it's a great introduction to the show's comedy style.
I really hope they bring this show back for another season, because it's too good to miss and doesn't overstay its welcome. My only hope is that the second season (it goes ahead) is longer than five episodes.

More "Urban" Atlanta
Watched the first 5 episodes and loved it. I'm sure this will not appeal to everyone as it is rooted deeply in lower class black culture. Which can be harsh gritty and disrespectful. With that being said for folks who've watched Atlanta know how unpredictable and surreal shows can be. This shows carries a similar energy albeit there is not always a happy ending as it is rooted in the lower income black experience. The show is real but still funny and carries the culture as it is forward on the big screen. There's also soo much that you have to read in-between the lines to understand. Great watch and great job Vince.
Introspective but sometimes boring
I didn't think this needed a 2nd season but yet here we are. I can't help but feel like this is a diluted version of the FX show Atlanta. I personally am a fan of Vince Staples music. I like some of the concepts he has on certain episodes but in my opinion they fall short the longer they go on.
I loved the bank Episode from season 1. The cinematography on every episode is excellent. Outside of that, some of the writing lack the depth I was hoping for. Season 2 was boring and even corny at times. Don't get me wrong, there are some funny moments but I just feel like this could have been more naturally comedic if it wasn't trying so hard to be funny. Some scenes drag out longer than they need to be. Nonetheless, I can appreciate the introspective moments, metaphorical meanings and subliminal music industry concepts written within the dialogue.

A great start!
This is a great start to the Vince Staples Show! We definitely need more than 5 episodes to get to know the Beach and the mind of Vince Staples a bit better.
With just the little amount of time that he's had he's established an interesting world and an interesting story telling method.
It can feel rushed and incomplete, but given the limited time that was allotted it does a good job establishing a base and the base is so good!
The variety of the characters and the settings are great and interesting. It's got good humor and the absurd situations Vince finds himself in are very entertaining. Vince obviously has some things to say and he does so in an interesting fashion.
