One of the most glaring issues with the Warnie TV miniseries is its superficial and disjointed narrative. Rather than delving into the depths of Shane Warne's fascinating life, the series chooses to skim over key moments and fails to provide any meaningful exploration of the subject matter. The disjointed storytelling further detracts from the narrative.
Despite Shane Warne being a complex and controversial figure, the show offers nothing more than shallow portrayals and surface-level stereotypes. The actors fail to embody their characters convincingly, resulting in performances that are devoid of passion and conviction. Whether it is the lack of chemistry between the actors or their inability to capture the nuances of their respective roles, the overall impact is a disheartening portrayal of a potentially captivating story.
This is literally a cash-grab of the highest order and needs to be avoided like the plague.

This belongs in the bin it is such an awful and rushed mini series and it truly shows. There was so much more to Warnie in his life then his scandals, his cricket career should've been forefront in this drama and his life after cricket would've been better to see.
I feel sorry for the family who had to also watch this, they deserved better in my opinion.
It was way too soon and hard to enjoy knowing that we lost Warnie just months earlier, this was a misstep from channel 9 and I could not enjoy it. I got halfway through the first episode and turned off. I loved most of those actors but after that I lost all respect.
Skip it you didn't miss much.

Warnie hasn't been gone long, this short 2 episode mini series doesn't do the best to show us whom he was. He was more than the scandals, he was a great cricketer, but he was involved with charities and so on. None that included in the series besides one mention stating a children's charity golf match, other than that nothing. This series seems rushed. Hack job. He hasn't been gone long either seems to be in bad taste. Too soon for this series. Could have been done better, and left enough appropriate time to pass for the family before releasing this. Warnie deserves better Disappointed. RIP WARNIE.
It seems some reviewers here, and in the media in general, were predetermined to hate this show. Offended that the producers and creators had the temerity to even make it. Couldn't wait to rag on it, no matter the content. Well, I'm not particularly a cricket fan or a Shane Warne fan, but I am a drama fan and I thought this was a really entertaining, well made, well paced, well written mini series. The structure's nifty - bounces and darts around (dare I say like one of Warne's spin bowls) but is never confusing. The show is clearly intended for a mainstream audience so it's not esoteric or confusing; it's lively and fun. The performances, specially from the two leads, are terrific and the directing and editing are nippy and fresh. The writing gives a real sense of Warne's complexities and contradictions as a person without wallowing in introspection or becoming navel-gazing. The cricket sequences - both archival footage and reshot drama inserts - are integral and exciting and do a great job of dramatising Warne's extraordinary talent as a spin bowler. So give this show a watch with an open mind and there's heaps to enjoy.
I hope since the show was released that Channel 9 has apologised to the family because it had to of been one of the most awful shows to watch in 2023. The cast looked like someone picked them out of a lineup, talent was wasted and how on earth could they get away with such tasteless acts like showing his cheating and not what he was known for? The editing is choppy and very messy, what's even worse is the fact they edited footage of actual matches to put in the show I mean wow truly wow. If there had been respect for the real person this would not of been allowed to happen but it did and it exists sadly. Don't bother, go on youtube and watch warnie's real highlights his career as a bowler.
