This story is based on several very common plot devices. One woman is pressed into impersonating her friend in a professional capacity which is the hanging secret. Family business is struggling which the grandson is trying to carry on. The two leads spend time together, in this case with Kate learning about chocolate in Brussels. Meanwhile she spurs Mathias to do some things to help the business. The story's conflict is very predictable and the ending is over the top.
I didn't see any chemistry between Jaclyn Hales and Zane Stephens. I often have trouble finding chemistry in hanging secret movies because at least one of the leads can't be totally honest. In this case, I think it is more than that. It just didn't feel like they were connecting. The Almost Kiss scene is clumsy and it felt like the actors were relieved to have it fail. I also wasn't impressed with the overall acting or the dialogue. The latter was frequently mundane. They too factors combined to make it seemed forced or unnatural.
There were some nice shots of Brussels which reminded me of being there. As expected with GAF, the story is very family friendly.

Seriously find something else, this blew. If this is what Great American Family is putting out then it's not a very good network. Was this a Christmas movie? I couldn't tell. It was a snooze fest. Who can come up with the required number of characters to talk about this movie??? It's bad, it's bad, it's bad, just awful, very awful, just not good. How many characters do I have left 217! Ok. So so boring, who are those people anyway? Was it filmed in LA in the back of a theater? Luckily, it's almost Christmas so Hallmark will show them how Christmas movies are done. Someone should for sure. Bye!
Well for starters, the movie is boring and it drags. The main characters have no spark or chemistry. The male lead is especially stale. I found myself wondering why he was casted because I did not find him interesting in the least bit. I managed to make it to the over half way mark and I had yet to see him show any interest in the female lead in any capacity. The writing is lackluster and there is a lot lost in the execution of bringing the story to life. I love clean movies. I subscribe to GAF specifically for that reason and there are plenty other movies that I like on GAF but just not this one. Complete fail on all fronts.
But this one does not really work for me
I guess for me I needed more actual chocolate making, this movie is all about dialogue and how tasty chocolate is. No actual production of chocolate outside of dialogue
I very much appreciated how clean the movie is. I appreciated no over the top drama.
The actors were ok, I doubt either of them knew anything about actual belgian chocolate making. At around 55 min into the movie they actually do cook up somehing, for me its too little too late.
I believe my wife would like this more than me.
I can ay that I generally enjoy GAF more than this one.

Particularly GAKKY. No surprise coming from GAK. A woman goes to Brussels to learn about chocolate making impersonating her friend. She has minimal skills in the field. The actress portraying her is just awful. She is very fake. The man playing Matthias, the Belgium chocolatier is also awful. Can we please hire someone from Belgium with an actual accent???? Someone with a bit more emotion??? There is NO chemistry between the main actors. None at all. Don't waste 2 hours watching. Or rather, go watch the version from Hallmark with Lacey Chabert and Will Kemp which is a whole lot more interesting and romantic!!!
