Most Lovecraftian books aren't very good. Trying to convey the unknowable on film is a hard thing to do. The problem is usually the acting. I will note that this story actually predates Lovecraft.
The acting wasn't terrible for the two main characters. The sound wasn't great and that had a negative impact. The story as written wasn't great by any stretch. It's not possible to do the story in the book itself so this is a story around that book.
The problem was that the story didn't adequately convey what was happen. Someone wore yellow and it seemed like the gender of that person wasn't the same throughout. Then there was a bunny and people disappearing from existence. I couldn't follow a lot of it.
The ending was weird in a way that I think a Mythos book should be.
I can't see I'd recommend it but it won't do you any harm. I'd be curious to see the actors on projects where the sound quality is too poor to let you really hear their voices.
