5 Rounds (Khamas Gawlat)

If you like underdog stories like Rocky and appreciate Egyptian culture, you'll enjoy this movie. I have never heard Egyptian rap before and found it fascinating. The setting of Alexandria brings coastal living to life. The special bond between the brothers is endearing. Complex characters make you love them or hate them. Special appearance by beloved Egyptian musician Aida el Ayoubi makes it a treat to watch. The movie opens with one of her songs and regrettably there is no performance by her during the movie. It's fun to see the interplay of the Arabic language with the English language. One can hope that people watching this will encourage more movies like it to be produced.
