The show is alright. Some interesting "cases", but most of them have already been covered on other shows ad finitem.
Additionally, most of the "experts" are actual scholars and researchers, then there are the the likes of Adam Richman (or a Jeopardy! Contestant). AFAIK Adam's an expert on obesity, overeating, and mayhaps a wee bit on food... so why is he commenting on any other topic (i.e. Paranormal incidents, archaeology, infectious diseases)?
Far too many cut aways to the commenters and their ofttimes inane, irrelevant, or repetitive critiques.
I may give it another couple episodes though I have little hope for improvment. A seond season seems unlikely unless contractually obligated.

I am totally disappointed that Dan Ackroyd would lower himself to be the host of this total train wreck of a historical show. Besides his dramatic ramblings and the additional B actors or producers that have the label historian put under their names, makes it a total joke. A complete lineup of has been actors, a Jeopardy winner, and a common podcaster all receive the title of historian and you have to sit there and listen to their ridiculous comments. If the show had more actual photos and videos instead of using high school actors, it might be vaguely believable. If you want to watch true historians of different fields of archaeology and history, then I would go with Mysteries of the Abandoned, especially since they show before and after photos and videos.
I love Dan Akroyd but this show is very mediocre. There's one with Danny Trejo now too. They all repeat the same stories and they've been done to death. Mysteries at the Museum is the best show to watch when it comes to this type of show. I was excited to watch this show when I first saw it because I love these kinds of shows but every episode so far, what's covered in the episode is something I've seen many of times before. I'd recommend watching Mysteries at the Museum if this is they type of show you're looking to watch. It's such a well done show. This show is extremely boring and I'm not a fan of the format. It's the same kind of format as mysteries of the abandoned or the proof is out there. Just a constantly cuts to numerous different people back and forth. I would find this show a lot better if it was just Dan Akroyd instead telling the story rather then throwing in all these other people.
Check your facts.
Largest human was in Saskatchewan Canada in Willow Bunch. He was after his death treated very inhumanly in the states and his family had to fight to get him home. He is buried under the statue of him.

What can I say? I'm a sucker for these kinds of shows. Having the man himself Dan Aykroyd host this was great. The show itself is exactly what you are probably thinking it is. It's a show about unbelievable stories from around the world. Opinions, theories, interviews with the talking heads. It checks all the boxes. I know this type of docuseries isn't for everybody but for what it is it is pretty damn great. I also like how this show fits in with Dan's personal beliefs on things. It's nice to see celebs going this route. If you enjoy William Shatners Weird or What or the Unexplained you'll enjoy this.
