The Whisper Within the Woods

The whisper within the woods is such a gripping story!! Right from the beginning it leaves you on the edge of your seat wanting more. The portrayal of the story line was very intriguing. You can tell that this film was very thought out and had your mind fixated. When watching a movie, feeling involved is the best experience to have. Even in the first scene, it has you. It was great to see something that catches your attention from the start and releases the hidden treasures that you wouldn't believe unless you saw it! Congratulations to all involved! Worth the watch! A few jump scares when needed. Brilliant film. Will definitely watch again!

Watch at your own risk. Special mention for the witch' s boots.... They are the star of the movie. No matter the place and desertion, the witch didn't lose her sense of style and comfort. After all she has an image to adhere to. The black garb, perfunctory execution and legendary acting adds to the already torture of the movie. The special effects deserve a special mention for their shoddy work. Editing team didn't disappoint as well with their execrable job. On a brighter note, the witch and Darren provide some spells of comedy with their.appalling attempts at acting. Overall a -10 from my side for this Horror of a movie (not a horror movie).

Went to see Whisper Within The Woods at the cinema. Honestly, I thought I was made of stronger stuff, but fifteen minutes in, the bloke next to me projectile-vomited into his popcorn and whispered his soul right out of his body. Absolutely couldn't hack it.

As for the film - imagine if a fever dream married a forest, and their child grew up possessed by every demon in folklore plus one invented on the spot. Creepy whispers? Check. Trees that definitely moved when you weren't looking? Double check. Plot? Unsure - I spent most of it trying to decide whether to flee or check on the bloke being sick.

By the end, I wasn't sure if I needed therapy, a hug, or a tetanus shot. 10/10, would traumatically recommend.

What a cracking film! A properly nerve-jangling indie horror set in the picturesque town of Upminster. What it lacks in budget it more than makes up for with a punchy script and quality acting.

Superb performances and an intriguing storyline that keeps the viewer hooked throughout. Who would have thought something so wicked and wretched would come out of RM14!

The soundtrack is Carpenter-esque with its haunting, almost torturous soundscapes, cranking up the suspense to a satisfying and shuddering climax.

Big recommend for anyone looking for a scare, a fright or a lesson in unsettling local history and folklore.

We really enjoyed this movie from start to finish. The intrigue, the mystery and how the whole thing unravels at each turn - it kept us gripped. I am a big fan of horrors but this is different (in a good way!). It's not overly gory, and more based in suspense and psychological thriller I'd say. The characters are played well and the script written with a slight humour, hiding the jumps and twists of the story, which combine into a thoroughly entertaining piece! A must watch for any indie film fans. It's hard to believe it's the first feature film made by these guys and on a tiny budget as they achieve so much.
