Thoroughly enjoyed this movie! A difficult story to tell and was presented in OUTSTANDING taste! The thought processes of the characters were detailed extremely well and help the viewer understand the trajectory of those decisions. The entire cast were fantastic in their respective roles. Tear-jerker moments and appreciation of "ordinary" that becomes "extraordinary" moments all contained in the movie. Special kuddos to the children in this movie as well as Team Awesome PenaVegas who are extremely talented. A great reality story to watch, that makes the viewers think, and encourages viewers in how to see Divine Intervention in daily circumstances and deal with difficutlt issues sucessfully. A GEM!!
I don't know what movie the two negative reviewers watched, but it can't have been Mr. Manhattan. I'm a person who always has to have the CC on and I never felt the need for it once here. And although the faith element was (comparatively) quite forward, it was by no means as "in your face" as movies of this genre can be.
Cliche and predictable it may be (I didn't find it to be too much of either, myself) but sometimes you just need to watch something where everything turns out for the best and the deus ex machina character (Mr. Stonehouse in this case) doesn't pound the viewer over the head with his role. Sometimes in today's world, you just need to fill out a couple hours with a feel-good movie and this fits the bill quite nicely without being too over the top.

Perhaps the best GAF or Hallmark movie in a long time. Great script and great acting. The story has a variety of parallel storylines including business clients, careers, children, and romance. Great writing for dialog between kids, who were struggling lost parents, and lead actors. The child actors were charming and entertaining. The story deals with several tough realistic life issues and offers sound advice at difficult crossroads for the various challenges each of the characters are facing. The movie is set in NYC which plays an entertaining and instrumental role in the storyline, adding to the dynamic storyline.
To say this was brutal is an understatement. The lead characters are married in real life and this most always leads to a train wreck. Acting was weak at best, storyline incredibly predictable. While watching my gf and I were saying the lines before they were actually spoken. This service asks if my review contains a spoiler. If you can't predict the outcome 10 mins into the movie, you've been living in a box. This is a heavy faith based movie which made it a little preachy (pardon the pun). Don't know why we bothered, guess it was a slow TV night. I should have watched my grass grow instead. This was a BIG miss for me.
First, we could not understand much of the conversation. So we tried to enable 'Closed Caption' and guess what? No Closed Caption! I suppose the Closed Caption equipment couldn't understand the verbiage either. We turned the volume up really high, and all it did was make the blurred verbiage loud and still not understandable.
Second, Carlos just wasn't a Manhattan/Wall Street kind of guy so that went over like a lead balloon. Maybe he could be a mechanic or a plumber, or the yard guy, but casting him as a high powered NY type just didn't fly. Besides, he was entirely too nice for that job.
After about 15 minutes of frustration at not understanding lots of the script, the DVR was quickly cleared of this dog of a movie. It was a solid '1.' Here is a hint: Next time, hire professionals that are working behind the camera.
