This is the worst movie (if you can call it movie) I have ever witnessed. Stay away at all cost.
The acting is nowhere to be seen. The only thing I felt watching this thing was shame. Shame for witnessing it. Shame because i will never reclaim the time I spend watching this thing.
The script is so bad it feels AI generated, but from a very alpha version of AI. The secondary characters were so offensive that I wont even bother to mention them.
Insufferable amalgamation of bad in so many dimensions. I was searching for ANY remdeeming quality in this film, but failed misserbly.
What a waste of resources, time and, well... What a waste. Run.

I had such high hopes for this movie. Seemed like it might be a little different from the norm. But the longer I watched it the worse it just kept getting. The acting was not great. The scenes with her dead fiance had nothing to do with anything. All in all this movie was a complete mess. Then we got to the end and it was just ridiculous. Nothing tied together or made any sense at all. The cellphone? It never explained why that was so important. Perhaps just to have a way of "Bob" , Malcolm McDowell 's part to be able to call in and there was a big name attached to the movie? Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time.
The tagline has promise, the trailer gave hope, the actual film was a major let down. The whole time watching this movie you're hoping it's going somewhere. The opening scene had me super intrigued. But unfortunately when we cut to our protagonist Wynne we watch her make ridiculous decisions while being haunted by this random cellphone. She makes no attempts to leave or change her situation. We see her dealing with her grief in flashbacks with her fiance and random contact with a neighbor, but when it comes to actually explaining what's happening all the plot and juxtaposition is sadly missing and the films resolution was non-existent. I really wish I could have my time back after watching this.
This movie was incredibly slow-paced, to the point where I found myself nodding off and had to stand up to keep myself awake. It's surprising that it's labeled as Horror-Mystery because there was hardly anything scary or mysterious about it; instead, it felt more like a drama-documentary. The plot was uninteresting and didn't make much sense, and the ending was confusing, leaving me feeling like I wasted a good 90 minutes of my time. This is by far the worst movie I've ever seen. The acting was subpar, and the only emotion I felt while watching it was shame-for witnessing such a poorly made film and for the time I'll never get back. The secondary characters were so poorly written that they're not even worth mentioning. Overall, this movie was a complete waste of resources, time, and, well, just a waste. I strongly advise against watching it.
Stumbling upon this 2024 movie titled "Cellphone" by random luck, I opted to sit down and watch it on account of it being a movie that I had never seen, nor actually heard about. And with it being a horror movie of sorts, of course I needed no persuasion to sit down and check out what director Luke Sommer and writer Rachel Sommer had to offer.
The storyline was somewhat of a swing and a miss. THere wasn't a whole lot of anything interesting happening, and sitting around watching the lives of Wynne (played by Whitney Rose Pynn) and Chris (played by Justin Malik Jackson) just didn't really make for an overly interesting narrative.
It was a relatively small cast ensemble in the movie, and I was only familiar with Malcolm McDowell. The acting performances in the movie were actually fair, despite the fact that the script was a dumpster fire.
I managed to suffer through a gutwretching 45 minutes of absolute boredom before I tossed the towel in the ring. This movie took forever to go nowhere. I am not kidding here, nothing happened in those long, oh so very long, 45 minutes that I suffered through. And believe you me, I am never returning to attempt finish watching "Cellphone".
This movie was a swing and a miss. And there wasn't an ounce of horror in it to be seen throughout the 45 minutes I endured. Well, unless you consider absolutely nothing happening on the screen as horror, if so, then you're in for quite a treat.
My rating of director Luke Sommer's 2024 movie "Cellphone" lands on a one out of ten stars.
