The G is one of those redemption type movies that makes you happy to see the end result as the people involved you route to get taken down. Dale dickey plays anne, a lady that has to look after her husband but she has a bit of mystery surounding her. She gets a visit from her granddaughter but then things go wrong. Both are taken against their will and held in a sort of home for the elderly but they are not good people there and soon anne finds herself wanting to get out while her granddaughter tries finding her. This film makes you feel angry, then happy and you want the best outcome to happen. Overall the g was a pretty good crime drama.
Got to see this movie randomly.
To be honest, I was skeptical when I saw the poster and read the synopsis. Still, I thought I'd give it a shot, I like looking for gems.
The overall pace is slow and there is not much action going on. It's a thriller, but most gets resolved in talking. There's a lot of angry talking with a straight face if you know what I mean, this movie is built upon that. I do not consider this to be a drawback however, these movies are good if your mood is right. And I was in the right mood.
It turned out to be a good movie. Not perfect. The pace is shifting, characters seem to be poorly introduced and there are places where its really hard to follow who did what.
Considering all the mentioned flaws, I still really liked the movie.
First of all, the subject is no joke, this nursing home scam is a real thing and people who engage in this stuff must be put to justice as soon as possible, this must stop.
Secondly, I really liked the characters, they do feel human and we get to see clearly how everyone is flawed and yet finds his own way to maintain, I guess that's how you discover a real character. The lead is strong.
This movie is grim, I really liked that, it's serious and it earns its respect.
The drama is okay, acceptable, its honest, but it could've been much deeper. I guess, this is a part where a lot could've been improved for this movie to become a real gem. An opportunity was lost here, unfortunately.
The plot... I mean it's nothing new and this type of plot has obvious drawbacks, but this movie has served it quite well in my opinion. It was well executed. Someone has put a thought in it and I can tell it was someone who has some sense.
This is actually great movie. I will recommend it to my friends.

The G is a well made film and much better than most low budget revenge flicks. Dale Dickey is great and perfectly cast. The injustice she and her husband go through sets the story up nicely. There are some pacing issues. A few sections feel padded out to stretch the run time to 100 minutes when really 90 minutes would have been more than enough. The action sequences are well handled. I would have given this film an 8 or a 9 but the final showdown was a little rushed. I was waiting for the G to pull the rug out from under the main villain's feet, but then something major happened off screen that was explained with a quick throwaway line. I felt like I'd been cheated out of a really tense final showdown that the film had been building up to.
This film is definitely worth a watch though, especially if you are a fan of revenge movies.

The best part of this movie is Dale Dickey as "The G" because honestly, if you removed her from this movie it wouldn't be very good at all. Her performance elevates a not so great script and a kind of confusing story with a few too many twists and turns. While the other actors are all OK, no one stands out, leaving Dickey to shoulder the entire film and considering what a great actress she is, she handles it to perfection. The story is an interesting one, there is character development and she has some great lines, but at times I was just left confused. It didn't help that casting made the mistake of using two shaved head actors with beards to play parts that had me wondering what was going on until I realized it was 2 different actors in different roles. If you are a fan of Dale's this is worth watching, just don't expect anything worthy of her talent.

Karl R. Hearne's The G is a cinematic tour de force that defies expectations and leaves an indelible mark. This dark thriller is a masterclass in storytelling, thanks to Dale Dickey's exceptional performance.
Dickey is simply electrifying as Ann, a woman forced to face the harsh realities of aging and exploitation. Her transformation into a fearsome avenger is both terrifying and exhilarating. Hearne's direction is masterful, creating a world with a visual style that perfectly complements the tone of the film.
The film's exploration of ageism, power dynamics and resilience is thought-provoking and deeply resonant. The G isn't just a revenge fantasy; it's also a poignant commentary on how society often treats its elders.
From the opening scene to the shocking climax, The G is a film that demands to be seen. It's a cinematic experience that will stay with you long after the credits roll. Hearne has created an unforgettable character in Ann.
The G is a must-see for fans of bold, uncompromising cinema.

- CuriosidadesThe film portrays abuse of conservatorship rules which apply in the USA and Canada and are a step of control over and above a Power of Attorney used elsewhere to manage health or financial matters. A conservatorship requires approval by a court and after medical professional input. The concept is often used by unscrupulous people, often relatives, to bully the elderly.
