Argentinian cinema and series hit different.
This show is kind of a romantic comedy but in a much higher level. Don't expect those hollywoodian stereotypes and superficiality. Having just seen the last episode (of season one), I can say this is probably my favorite rom-com series ever. Which is remarkable because I usually don't like this gender.
But this show is just AMAZING. I'm gonna list all its qualities:
I guess the thing that surprised me the most is that we're able to like the main character even with all her flaws. She's not perfect, as neither of us is. She's not a poor little girl looking for a man, she's a real woman whose situations in life are a result of her choices. And she has to deal with them.
I'm just dying to see season 2!

But this show is just AMAZING. I'm gonna list all its qualities:
- great acting from everyone, especially the two main characters, from actors Griselda and Esteban;
- all characters (friends, family, coworkers) are likeable and relatable;
- great dialogs, with very little cliches to be honest. Everything feels very real;
- in the first two episodes you'll probably don't like the main character very much; but she will grow on you very quickly!
- cute production, good scenes from Buenos Aires;
- story is not all about "love". There are side stories about friendship, family, loss, self esteem, relationship with the therapist (which scenes are particularly enjoyable);
- relationships and feelings are showed deeply and there's no way you won't relate to some of them, being it one character or another.

I am also one of those who completed watching this two-season series in just two days. No surprise! The story and characters are fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed what I watched and laughed at many scenes. Although the character Vicky even managed to make me mad at times, I appreciate the way her journey is portrayed.
This is not just a comedy; it also makes you question yourself and your relationships. The series creates perfect moments where you start to feel like part of the story. All the performances in the series are excellent. The script and directing techniques are absolutely successful.
This isn't meant to be a critique, but the series does use some similar patterns to Sex and the City and The Golden Girls. While there aren't direct similarities, there are slight inspirations. However, one critique I have is the lack of diversity. In the series, you don't see any Black people; it's almost entirely a white-centric depiction, except for a few Chinese characters.
Buenos Aires is famous for its rich ethnography, but this was reflected in the TV series far less than I expected.

Maybe it is just the incredible talent of the writers and the female lead to give life and shape to such a horrible, self-absorbed, selfish, insensitive, revolting person. The show is otherwise great, the cast is brilliant, wonderful production values, the writing is solid, Esteban Lamothe's character is dreamy etc. However, into episode 8 I just cannot stomach the female protagonist anymore. There is also something old-fashioned and disturbing about a 40-something middle-class woman in Buenos Aires desperate to get married. I cannot watch the show any longer. I can't stand Vicky, her tantrums, her first-world emotional problems (she may live in Argentina but she's an insufferable emotional Karen). Hasta aquí llego.
The author of this comedy series must have watched lots of romantic comedies, especially Sex and The City, Bridget Jones Diary,and many others because there is a bit of each one in it. Which is not bad at all, considering they are all good movies but...the stereotype this is based on is totally out of date, the main character is a selfish brat with no personality at all except for the anxiety of getting married, we know nothing about her, I mean who quits a career for a man these days? Are we nuts? The actresses however are phenomenal, Griselda Siciliani can do anything, best actress of her generation together with the rest of the cast even Esteban Lamothe who plays same role every time. Conclusion...Not worth watching, it is not even funny.
I started watching the series without many expectations, but halfway through the first episode, I was hooked, and it seemed brilliant. Griselda is an impressive actress, and she shines the most in the comedic scenes. The rest of the cast is flawless, and the characters are very well-written. The writing is also worth highlighting-it's one of those series where you can easily recognize different friends or family members in the characters you see on screen. The attention to detail in the storytelling and the balance between humor and drama make it a truly enjoyable experience. Each episode keeps you wanting more, and it's hard not to binge-watch the entire series.
