"Disko 76" is not a television series, but a six-part, cheap attempt to manipulate the veiwers -- with all the trimmings: a one-dimensional, annoying girl boss, every man is completely stupid and shows all imaginable negative character attributes possible, and women who are better at everything anyway.
The series' highly one-sided narrative presents 1970s Germany in a completely distorted and false light. Let's hope that younger generations don't believe this nonsense. If the creators of the series dislike the 1970s so much, maybe they should make series about other topics. Here, however, an obvious attempt was made to steal the movie classic "Grease," enrich it with personal opinions, and resell it. The result is pathetic and unbearable.
The dialogues are embarrassing and shallow, and the female lead's constant monologues are brimming with arrogance. The plot is predictable and anything but original.
The only ray of hope is the character Robert, played by Jannik Schümann, the only actor in this farce who deserves to be called an "actor" at all.
