As Deku and the rest of Class A round up the jailbreak villains, they encounter someone who has taken it upon himself to call himself the next All Might and symbol of peace. While he might look like All Might, his actions do not align with what All Might stands for. Class A must stop the imposter All Might, save the hostage he uses to power his quirk and save UA from destruction.
This anime movie is a complete filler. It is jam-packed with action, amazing animation, and everything fans of the series have come to love. Conversely, the story does not progress or truly connect to the main storyline. It occurs at some point in the main storyline but does not give the audience the exact moment. With one hour and fifty-eight minutes runtime, some parts drag on, and some could be removed to streamline the experience. This movie is entertaining for diehard fans but worth watching and streaming instead of going to the theaters.

I'm usually not hard on anime movies since they are filler, but man this wasn't it. 'My Hero Academia: You're Next' is a filler movie for class 1A. The animation was solid, and the students stay true to their hero code, but the story was bland, predictable, and way too corny. After that poor season finale I needed a good My Hero movie before they drop the final season and this was just too corny. The fights were decent and I admire how the hero's make sure the civilians are safe, but honestly I never felt any danger throughout the whole film. Lack of emotion too. Overall, extremely disappointed in My Hero as of lately.
With "All Might" having lost most of his powers and now taken a back seat, it falls to the students of class 1A of the academy to do the policing of the undesirables in society and use their adaptable array of quirks to deliver these miscreants to the authorities. Then suddenly, out of nowhere, there appears a serious challenge to their regime when "Dark Might" emerges bent of replacing his august predecessor and imposing his own form of rule on a Japan he considers a pale imitation of it's former self. He is not without his own powerful hench-folk, and unwittingly one of those is the powerful "Anna" who can augment and corrupt the powers of others and whilst under an hypnotic spell be used to make this new oppressor nigh on unstoppable. It's down to the determined "Deku" and his new found ally "Giulio" to galvanise his nimble friends and find a way to thwart this monster before his city-sized aerial fort destroys their school, "All Might" and all that they stand for. It's a bit on the long side this, but there's still a solid story of good vs. Evil underpinned by plenty of animated combat action, some great smashes - "Manchester" and "Torino" maybe being a little more potent than "Grape Juice" and some effort has been made to imbue the characters with a little more personality as we discover more about who both their nemesis and the manipulated "Anna" actually are. It can be a bit repetitive at times and it has a couple of goes at concluding, but I still quite enjoyed it.
I loved this movie i paid for the tickets in advance and this movie did not disappoint! The animation was incredible, I got chills in the last fight, it was so fun to watch and I can't wait to watch this again. I watch the anime so I'm invested in the characters but I think this would still be enjoyable to watch as is. Just when you think movie ideas are run out of, they create this ride for fans. I'm incredibly thankful to all creators and animators for this special treat. I came and made an account on imdb just to show my gratitude and review. Can't wait for the last season and hopefully another movie!
Like previous MHA movies, it works like midquel that does not impact the main story in any major way and honestly even though now there is a big demand for manga arcs to be adapted into films I still love these kinds of stories are being released, living their own bubble of the fictional world, reminds me of old DBZ films.
Animation was top notch, main villain and other new charcters were interesting. Film also carries that feel-good Message and atmosphere that We all need. I would recommend it to all MHA fans out there and especially since the story has ended in the manga and will soon End in the anime as well to remind of the series' Best features.
It is no the type of film that is groudbreaking or offers something New to the story as a whole but it is a fun and fulfilling experience with the characters We love.
