"Cannibal Cult Dinner Party" is an entertaining short film that I stumbled across online. Maybe it was the odd title that caught my attention. The film is about a young man named Brett who goes to a dinner party at a couple's house. There's a jarring opening title sequence with aggressive metal music, which was probably intentionally made to be jarring. Brett is given a drugged drink and is asked to take a bath at the house, which he does. I don't wanna spoil the film too much, but as you may guess from the title, cannibalism is involved.
You may find this film to be shocking, but I didn't, except for that title sequence. I watch a lot of weird films, so this one is simply par for the course for me. Brett is played by Stu Kimball and his performance is really good. The other actors are also really good. I enjoyed the writing, music, cinematography, and such. Brett has a dream while he's taking a bath and it looks great. The film actually isn't extremely violent, but there is definitely a bit of violence. I also laughed several times while watching the film. The main thing I didn't like is that the story is a bit predictable, but that's a small complaint. "Cannibal Cult Dinner Party" is a strange, funny, and enjoyable film. It's kinda difficult for me to recommend it, though, unless you like to watch bizarre dark comedies.
