Phenomenal short film. The untold storyline, artistic interpretation, acting - all top notch. Great on screen partnership between the two characters comes through the screen as natural bond - absolutely perfect casting.
No dialog needed - art meets cinema at its finest. Fantastic performance by both actors. Hope it's not the last time we see them together in a movie - hardship, inspiration and happiness in perfect harmony.
18 minutes of self reflection in the contest of creation - artist's creation, creator's inspiration accompanied by struggle and joy. Loneliness and companionship of inspiration.
My highest rated movie of 2024. Cheers.

This film simply just wasn't for me. I really don't like to say I hate a movie but this was extremely confusing to watch. I attended the premiere and the lead actor said we should watch it multiple times I can't even imagine watching this more than once.
I did really appreciate the costuming. This was honestly the best part of the film. Very thoughtful. Would have liked to see a longer version with this designers work. A lot of the cinematography and directing didn't work for me. Just a little too weird and odd for me. Did not make sense. Maybe it was the editing? I love art films but this just was missing it. Maybe it was the poor acting?
The art direction and production design was also a highlight. Would love to hear more about how this was done. Was there AI used? What was a set and what wasn't. The digital graphics didn't seem to blend in with the practical physical work that was done. Confusing to watch. The storyline was all over the place, felt very rushed.
I really wanted to like it but this is a hard no for me. Great job to the crew though who made the costumes. Loved the girls outfit and the space suit, really interesting color choices.
I'm a huge supporter of indie film so if you are interested in it definitely watch it as it won't take too much of your time. Curious what other people think. I watch a lot of movies.

I had the incredible opportunity to work as the Costume Designer on this film, so I may be a bit biased, but I genuinely believe it was created with artistic expression as the main driving force. The filmmakers pushed boundaries, throwing out traditional structures and expectations in favor of something more unique and thought-provoking. It's a film that goes beyond simply entertaining - it's about creating an experience that stays with you. I really hope it gets more exposure, whether through being screened at festivals or shared online, so we can all enjoy it again. A huge congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this project to life!

This daring artistic vision transcends traditional narratives, inviting viewers into a cerebral and sensory experience that redefines what film can achieve as a medium of expression.
Ectropy, a concept symbolizing the emergence of structure and complexity from disorder, serves as the film's thematic anchor. The filmmaker, Jordan Shultz, masterfully translates this abstract idea into a visual and emotional odyssey. Every frame feels like a painting, every transition like the brushstroke of an artist grappling with the universe's eternal dance between disarray and unity.
In a cinematic landscape often dominated by the overtly spectacular, Ectropy stands apart-a brilliant artistic film that redefines how we perceive the boundaries of art, time, and humanity, A elusive and deeply symbolic concept, becomes the heart of this work, unfolding like a slow-moving canvas where every frame breathes.
Directed with extraordinary sensitivity, the film explores Ectropy as both a visual and emotional phenomenon. Through its ethereal cinematography-soft light bleeding into shadow, bodies moving like echoes of themselves-the film immerses us in a dreamlike world that feels simultaneously surreal and achingly real. Each shot lingers, urging viewers to look beyond the obvious and witness the poetry of motion and decay.
The performances, understated yet monumental, are delivered with a restraint that makes every glance, every silence feel weighty. The film refuses to hold the viewer's hand, offering instead a meditation on fragility, cycles of existence, and the human tendency to find beauty in disarray-central to the idea of ectropy itself.
The sound design is equally remarkable, with a delicate balance of ambient soundscapes and contemplative silences, mirroring the film's themes of entropy and transformation. The score ebbs and flows like a distant memory, enhancing the emotional pull without ever overwhelming the visual tapestry.
Ectropy is not merely a story-it is an experience, demanding patience and vulnerability from its audience. Those willing to surrender to its pace will find themselves rewarded with a transcendent reflection on impermanence, artistry, and the interplay between chaos and order.
This is not a film for everyone, and that is its strength. It does not seek to entertain, but rather to provoke, to haunt, and to reveal. Ectropy is a profound achievement, a testament to the filmmaker's vision and a rare gift to those who see the world through the lens of art and wonder.

If you're looking for something ordinary, that is not this.
"Ectropy" was a wonderful surprise. It's a new approach to telling a captivating story that I've never seen before. No words were ever spoken; it was just an emotional journey that left me wanting more. I often judge a good movie by if I would ever want to see it again. And this one is a "YES." It's been over a month, and I'm still thinking about it.
The costumes and art design were equally magnificent. All you need is to sit back, relax, and let Daniel take you on a cinematic adventure. If you want to see something original, this one is for you.
