I wanted to see this and hear people's stories about Lake Lanier and Oscarville. 95% of this is a contractor/developer, Steve, and how he was making money and residents in the county were trying to keep the area "white."
Then there is Chasity. Her story sounds like it's covered in BS. She just keeps saying, "you know what I mean?" while saying a whole lot that doesn't make sense. She makes herself sound really dumb. There are no real stories of survival here. I don't know what this was or what it was supposed to be, but it was not good at all. A waste of time AND money for those making this "film" and those watching it.

"Oh my God, I can't believe this happened..."Everyone in the comments using Trump language is hilarious. " I can't believe a fetus wrote this script. I feel so bad for everyone who had to actually open their eyes and witness this". As we always know what demographic don't know how to utilize the English language AHAHAHA
This film was great in every aspect. There was so much to enjoy here. The narration was clean, clear and responsive to people who tried to deny this part of history in Georgia. There were many moments in this documentary that was very eye-opening and teachable to Americans on their history.
Do yourself a favor and please grab this documentary and give it a watch. This is a must see film. It tells the truth on who your neighbors are. As if you need a reminder.

I think this was a good watch for someone who has never heard stories or have minimal knowledge of the history revolving around Lake Lanier. I think there should be an emphasis/focus on documentaries like this to bring it to the public's sight. I only heard about it recently due to a tweet online, without the tweet, I wouldn't have known this documentary even existed. The history is rich and should be a catalyst to help cultivate the minds of not only the local community, but for human on earth. I appreciate the information provided in this documentary and will be doing further research because of it.
Best,
Best,
Expected a lot more about the lore and "accidents" on the lake. Found that the time spent discussing the building of luxury homes was not on subject other than the continued existence of racism, which is of course worthy of talking about at every opportunity. Just don't expect to hear about all the deaths or tragedies. Wishes there was time spent with more authorities would be interesting as they see first what has happened there and the aftermath. The stories seemed swept under the rug for a longer than necessary tale of a builder that had issues because he wanted to make a part house. He should go on HGTV instead.
All I can say is this is a reminder that "THEY NOT LIKE US, THEY NOT LIKE US!" I encourage everyone to not only check out this film but to share it with a friend, or a co-worker, and pay a few bucks to see it. We have to support one another and this film is a perfect example of how to do that. When we share our stories, we honor the legacy of those who carved a path for US!!!
We must remember. We must commune with one another. We must tell our stories to our children so that we can alchemize the trauma and spin it into gold. To the team that made this, keep going. Do like DJ Khaled and give us..." another one" lol I'm playing. Beautiful film!
