I honestly expected more from this drama. There was a lot of hype surrounding it.
The story starts off nicely with two young people falling in love in Japan. Gradually, we observed their inner struggles with their feelings and personal desires, which step by step led them to break up.
The other part takes place in Seoul. The main actors meet again after several years. Their lives seem to have changed significantly, but not their feelings for each other.
In my opinion, the constant flashbacks and lack of emotional expression create a poor narrative for the main couple, who seemed confused and not clearly in love. In the end, I found the story tiresome. However, the direction was well-executed.

I was reeeeally looking forward to this drama. Short enough and relatable topic. But then they decided to put only one episode per week. And after really interesting first two episodes,it started to get so booring and empty.
I'm used to the slow, very slow pace from Korean dramas, but this one managed to drag even only 6 episodes to the point where you don't even care what's gonna happen next, just end it already. Chronology is messed up too. They could've focused more on the story BEFORE and story AFTER so that it makes some sense but they did a sloppy job there too. Why it has 9.1 rating is beyond me. I guess people hurried to rate it only after it just stared to air, cause it's not even finished yet. Whatever they make of an ending,it can't make it up to me cause they falied to meet the expectations.

The first episode of the drama made a lasting impression. It is a beautiful mix of all Japanese and Korean sensibilities. Love is the universal language.
The real strength of this show is its writing. The writing, the dialogues, how scenes are developed. It makes you realize how the 'writers' are different from web series or webtoons. Without any disrespect to web-series writers, the writers writing for a fiction book, work differently. It is like a seed, sowed, watered, tended and taken care of till it reaches a maturity - a time-consuming process by a patient person.
It reminded me of The Outlander, War of the Worlds, Lord of the Rings etc. The literary touch of excellence.
Actors and director is doing a fine job bring it to visual medium. Do Not miss this one.

Korean Drama '' What Comes After Love '' is a romantic melodrama about two lovers from different countries and different views on love.
The drama handles the back and forth nicely, even though the timeline wasn't linear. Still, it was easy to follow and that approach gave the drama more edge and the story more emotional impact.
The story itself was interesting, though there were times, like the final episodes, that it was a series of miscommunications that got things frustrating. Also, that is when the drama started getting into tropes.
Still, the performances were all great by everyone in the cast.
So, overall, seven out of ten.

I totally get what other reviewers are whining about when they say there are too many flashbacks in this series. Because, wow, they're not wrong. It's like every time you blink, bam, we're back in the past, replaying the same sad, emotional moments that got us here. Maybe a few less flashbacks would've made this series a bit less of a time-traveling headache.
Is it a heartbreaking story? Yeah, absolutely. And it got me good. I won't lie, this series made me cry like a baby at the most unexpected moments. You think you're safe? Nope. One minute you're rolling your eyes at the drama, and the next, you're wiping away tears. The emotional punches land.
But honestly, you can't help but get invested. There's a reason they keep dragging us through the past-because the emotional payoff eventually hits hard.
