Small town guy comes to a big city and situations make him a gangster. Nothing new, just the same old stories rehashed and packaged well.

Everything felt flat and unnecessary. An ensemble cast and it still fails to deliver the high impact moments the film demands because we ve seen every single variation of this.

May be the producers wanted to play it safe and it kind of makes sense but even a slightly newer concept with the kind of marketing push the film got would have been so much more appreciated. It would have done wonders to a faltering industry purely because of zero experimentations done here where other industries have left us behind.

The biggest plothole for me in this film is the fact that Muttu had so many chances to back to his old life after his revenge was taken but he doesn't even though he wants to. No one's actually stopping him nor does the situation but why doesn't he take it?

Sanjana Anand being the initial love interest does not get closure, the other love interest Sampada's decisions looked too rushed, Poornachandra looked kiddish with his superficial performance, Atul Kulkarni is not antagonist enough but the only good part came from Aditya as the Police Inspector who looked great and did every bit of justice.

Yuva Rajkumar gives his all and shows improvement. He looks good on screen and shows a hell lot of promise. If I have to nitpick, there were some emotional moments where he falters but nothing major that cannot be worked on. I will certainly look forward to his future releases.

There's nothing great about Rohit Padaki's writing really since its a tried and tested formula so creativity wise there's nothing to talk about.

The camera work looked good and apt for the genre of the film.

The music was something that stood out screaming. Charan Raj has given it his all and without his magic, the film would have faltered. I want to go as far saying music held the film together.

Its a decent watch but nothing to be remembered. I just hope that these big production houses grow a pair and invest in new concepts, fresh ideas so that people can proudly say our industry has offered something new and fresh to Indian Cinema.

If not we will only keep talking about KGF and Kantara for more years to come.

The first half was promising even though it had it's moments where I wanted to look away from the screen. But then the second half takes away all the hard work that's put into the film.

Kannada films are not doing well in theatres because kannada audience are highly critical of what they call cinema/movies. And it's a strong sign that the audience has evolved and asking for a far better range of films. Perhaps it's a sign for the local film makers to step up, and unfortunately none of them are reading the cue.

I'm one of those language fanatics who wants kannada films to do well. But unfortunately every theatre visit has been disappointing in the last three years. Except the time I watched 'Shakhakaari'.

Another film to be added to the kinds of 'Ibbani Tabbida ileyali', 'agnyathavasi', 'bhairathi ranagal', 'bhageera', and more.

A lot of hype but does not deliver.

Ekka kicks off with an engaging first half that maintains a steady pace and keeps the audience intrigued. The narrative pulls you in with its setup and character introductions, building curiosity as the story unfolds.

However, for me, the biggest letdown was Yuvaraj Kumar. Despite the build-up around his debut, he doesn't quite bring the aura or screen presence expected of a lead hero. It felt like something was missing in terms of charisma and command.

On the brighter side, director Rohit Padaki carries the film remarkably well with his vision and narrative structure. Aditya is surprisingly effective in his role, delivering a performance that leaves a solid impact. Both heroines also do justice to their roles and contribute meaningfully to the storyline.

The standout moment in the film is undoubtedly the action sequence where the protagonist fights with a child in his arms. It's poetic, powerful, and truly showcases the director's creative thinking and flair for visual storytelling.

That said, the film stumbles in its final act. The last 20 minutes feel unnecessarily stretched and dilute the overall impact. Climax, in particular, seems rushed and could have been much more gripping with better planning and execution. With a little more time and refinement, the team could have crafted a more captivating ending to match the film's promising build-up.

Overall, Ekka is a good one-time watch. The subject is strong, and the direction stands out in parts-but the execution, especially towards the end, leaves you wishing for more.

Ekka attempts to be an entertaining film but fails miserably on almost every front. From the very beginning, it becomes evident that the movie lacks a clear storyline or purpose. Instead of offering a coherent plot, Ekka stumbles through a series of random, disconnected scenes that make it difficult for the audience to stay engaged or even understand what's going on.

One of the film's biggest drawbacks is the complete absence of a strong narrative. There is no build-up, no emotional depth, and certainly no payoff. The characters appear out of place, and their motivations remain unclear throughout. It's as if the filmmakers started shooting without a script or any clear idea of what they wanted to tell.

The performances by the lead actors are equally disappointing. Their dialogue delivery feels forced and unnatural, often making serious scenes unintentionally comical. At times, it almost feels like the actors themselves are confused about their roles. There's a complete lack of chemistry between the characters, which only adds to the film's overall disjointed feel.

Direction and editing also fall flat, with scenes dragging unnecessarily and transitions that feel abrupt and jarring. The humor doesn't land, the emotional moments feel hollow, and there's no action or twist to redeem the movie either.

In terms of production, Ekka looks rushed and underdeveloped. Even the background score and cinematography fail to elevate the viewing experience. It's frustrating to sit through a film that has nothing meaningful to offer.

In conclusion, Ekka is a movie that should have never made it past the scripting stage. It lacks a plot, fails in execution, and leaves the audience wondering why they wasted their time. Definitely a skip.!
