I have never written a review before , but after watching this particular movie with my family, I felt compelled to share our experience. Unfortunately, it was one of the most underwhelming movie outings we've had in a long time - and that's putting it mildly.

We were genuinely excited to watch this film. The trailer looked promising, and the promotions had built up a lot of expectations. Wanting to make it a special family day, we planned everything in advance - took a leave from work, and even traveled quite a distance just to catch it at a good theatre. In total, we spent quite a bit, not just in terms of money, but also time and effort. Never even think about making a third part of this movie.

He is largely a passive participant in the central conflict, never fully taking responsibility for the chaos around him. Sargun Mehta and Nimrat Khaira, despite being talented actresses, are given roles that fall into clichéd tropes - the "sacrificing first wife" and the "innocent second wife." There's little depth in their friendship or rivalry, and the script never truly explores their internal dilemmas. Their emotions seem manufactured, inserted to check boxes rather than tell a meaningful story.

Dialogues, too, are inconsistent and often unfunny. Many jokes rely on tired stereotypes and repetitive gags. The humor feels forced, with the film trying too hard to make the audience laugh instead of letting it flow naturally from the situations. There's also a fair share of regressive jokes that treat sensitive issues like infertility and polygamy as punchlines - a tone-deaf approach in today's age.

The film also reinforces outdated societal norms. Instead of challenging the idea that a woman's worth is tied to her ability to have children, Saukan Saukane indirectly validates this notion. The first wife's decision to bring in another woman just to bear a child sends the wrong message. Rather than empowering female characters, the movie reduces them to their roles in relation to the man and the family's desire for progeny.

Cinematically, the film isn't without merit - the visuals are polished, and the music is catchy. But good production values can't compensate for weak storytelling. The pacing drags in parts, and the plot becomes predictable after the first 30 minutes. The emotional climax - meant to tie all the narrative threads together - feels unearned, relying more on melodrama than genuine character growth.

In summary, Saukan Saukane had the potential to be a thought-provoking and heartfelt comedy-drama, but it squandered that chance by playing it too safe - and too silly. It neither challenges harmful societal norms nor offers genuine comic relief. Instead, it reinforces stereotypes and delivers shallow entertainment at best. It's a disappointing entry in Punjabi cinema that could have used its platform to say something meaningful but chose the easier route of outdated humor and surface-level emotion.

Writing this review during last 15 minutes of the movie, cause atleast this review is more engaging than the movie itself.

Woeful. Absolutely woeful!

Haven't watched houseful 5, but even that might be better than this!

Just rewatch the first part in 2x and call it a day.

Pros: don't exist- 2 songs are nice Recreated theme song is average.

That's pretty much it.

Also I did laugh twice in the whole movie, so I guess twice in a sequal is decent 🤣

Movie does not make sense. I'm still angry I wasted my 2+ hours watching this movie. I could have watched something else. An absolute let down. Didn't understand the story at all. Great actors and cast however the movie does not have a story. It's boring. The first movie was 10/10 however this is 0/10.
