A highly intriguing short film due to its premise and the way it unravels its story. There are plot twists, controversies, surprises, and decent animation.
"Dare to be Fabulous" is a completely entertaining 6-minute experience that can impact you with those little surprises in such a short time. Its beginning has a lot of energy and a very notable hook, capturing all your attention and maintaining a good pace. In addition to adding certain reflective points that have a positive impact.
The narrative argument of this short film is a box of surprises because it establishes a serious tone or focus on the mafia, gangsters, or a man's sacrifice to implant his strong image in his environment, all from the perspective of a son who has high ideals about his father. However, other details are added that enhance (controversially for many) the experience through that plot twist.
From my perspective, the short film has an original creativity that makes it stand out among many. It should also include those reflective themes such as dual personalities, personal satisfaction, places of happiness, drag queens, the impact of knowing the truth, human perspectives, sacrifices, the father-son relationship, earning respect through actions, machismo, freedom, distrust, idealization, the way to cope with impactful truths, and acceptance.
The sound and the music are decent. The animation, despite having its essence and uniqueness, is well done. I liked that tone of strong and muted colors that match the feelings conveyed during the short film.
6.5/10.

Easy to define Dare to be fabulous as pleasant surprise. A gangster, at first sight too protective about his son. The son who wishes demonstrate his skills to his dad who represents his absolut model. A try to demonstrate than he is a strong man, like his old man.
And a surprise, for both , far to be a real nice one but defining the strong man behind apparences .
Beautiful drawings, provocative story, fair dose of some good humor and fair final. And, indeed, a delicate theme, explored in smart- gentle manner . The hide side of a strong man . And the conclusion of a young one, after interesting lesson.

"Dare to Be Fabulous" delivers plenty of out-of-the-blue surprises and unexpected twists. I never could have guessed where the story would take us-or where it would take Al, the young gangster, and his loyal assistant. And that's exactly why I won't share any spoilers-this is a story best experienced without knowing what's coming.
The animation uses a classic 2D-inspired style, which I'm a huge fan of. It fits perfectly with the smoky bars and shadowy underworld where these gangsters spend their time. And despite everything we witness, young Al's unwavering respect for his notorious criminal father adds a surprisingly heartwarming touch to the film.
