Rollercoaster of Emotions
After watching trailer I decided to watch this movie in theaters, three stories which are going through different struggles in their life. First one is coming from village to city, second one is dealing with conflicted relationship between father and son and the third one is a girl dealing with a problem because of which her marriage get cancel every time & then after she had a love story. I don't want to reveal anything, but movie has beautifully written story, dialogues and actors who played their part like they are living it. Background music is the USP of this movie and some scenes which just gave me goosebumps. Esha Kansaria just leveled up this time. A must watch treat with full family. Watch this one in your nearest theaters.
The New Era for Gujarati Film Industries
This film stands out as one of the finest examples of storytelling in both Gujarati and Indian cinema. It's a must-watch masterpiece with no unnecessary scenes, no filler songs, and absolutely no loose ends. Every element-from the acting and direction to the cinematography and music-is executed flawlessly. The performances are deeply authentic, the narrative is tight and emotionally resonant, and the visuals are stunning. The soundtrack complements the story beautifully, enhancing every moment. A cinematic gem that deserves every bit of praise.

This isn't just a movie. This is cinema.
It's hard to put into words what I felt while watching this movie today. Very few films leave me with such emotions-Tamasha and Rockstar did, and now this. Bollywood has Imtiaz Ali, and Dhollywood has Preet. The film was extraordinary, exceptional, and absolutely mind-blowing. Story 1 - The dream of every middle-class family-to own a home. - The silent struggles of renters, forced to keep moving from place to place. Story 2 - A heartfelt father-son relationship, portrayed with rare honesty. - The moment they finally taste the daal-so simple, yet so profound. - The son quietly servicing his father's vehicle-love expressed without words. Story 3 - Two souls who long to be together with every fiber of their being, yet destiny keeps them apart. - And in the end, reality wins-they can't be together. Each story touched my heart deeply. I could see parts of myself in all of them. What I loved most is how the film breaks stereotypes-no toxic masculinity, no gender bias. Men share responsibility at home, and respect flows naturally. We need more stories like this. The whole team including the Actors, costumes, music everything came together beautifully.
Must watch..Emotional, but not comedy
Common man can relate themselves. Each dialogue is meaningful. Acting excellent by all characters. Very emotional. Each scene tells about something about our life. Direction is ultimate. So many sences tells without any dialogue or by only one or two words.
Songs are meaning full but not memorable.
You will feel light after watching movie.

/Naankhatai:- A Not Fully Sweet But Real And Tasty Delight/
The amount of Gujarati movies I am watching on the big screen is increasing by the day! This is a good change if I may say so! And this one was different. 3 stories running parallel, each having a plot of its own to tell, combined to make an anthology movie. Yes, that's what Naankhatai is.
From the movies I've seen in Gujarati, I haven't come across a movie going this way. Thus, it was a different attempt and the whole team had to come up with something unique and catchy to keep the audience hooked and engaged throughout. Director Preet Sinh Gohil always comes up with a unique movie as such.
Given the stellar cast and the goodwill of the makers, it was surprising to see that very few shows have been allotted to the movie. Also, even in those, the audience is quite less. At 160 minutes, the length would seem big, given today's aura and short attention span of people, but I found it proper and didn't feel like it was extended by any means.
To summarise, all the 3 stories are worth watching and there's emotional connect in every story. Also, the plots breath reality and acceptance, which are essential ingredients of our living and ones that I really like.
Life is fragile. Love is tough. Living is temporary. Death is certain. Dreams are what we chase, reality is what we live. Acceptance and contentment hold the key to longevity in this brutal world.
The story of Mr. And Mrs. Chudasama is raw, real, gripping and heart-wrenching. They are a cute couple in search of a dream house. Their chemistry is gripping and intense, albeit soft. The little nuances of their scenes, the emotional conversations, the matured acceptance of fate and being content with reality at the cost of their lavish dreams has been beautifully shown in their story. The above reference of Mr. And Mrs. Holds a lot of relevance too. Mitra Gadhvi as Raghuvirsinh and Deeksha Joshi as Seetaba remind me of Rajkumar Rao and Patralekha in Citylights in quite a few seasons. The dialogues:- "Makaan To Bani Jaay Che, Ghar Banta Varsho Lagi Jaay Che", "Gareeb Na Sapna Joke J Hoy Bhai" and "Jeni Jode Hoy Che Eni Jode Ketlu Badhu Hoy Che Nai" were just too good. Throughout, they move in and out in search of their dream home.
The story of Mahadev, Surya and Saraswati was so real too. It mainly focused on a weakened bond between a father and son, put together by the mother. When catastrophe strikes is when the realisation occurs that there is love for each other as such. There were so many layers and sub plots in this story overall. The problem with today's world is that following morals, values and ethics is considered to be special whereas it should just be a basic phenomenon. Also, the conversations between the mom and son, husband and wife, and father and son at the end feel so real and ones we can connect to easily. The recipe book, the small gifts, the little joys, the changed behavioural approach etc. Are highlight of this story. The dialogue "Ek Nana Ghar Ma Jem Ke Ek Khali Sheher Vastu Hoy" is sheer class by Hiten Sir.
The story of Ram and Maithili is the most complicated amongst the 3. It shows that some stories aren't meant to end perfectly, or last forever, but they are meant to feel real and experience what's required to be felt. Theirs is a story of anxious waiting, uncertain belonging, depth of emotions flowing and self-realisation. Their kapaad and lat scene reminded me of Shah Rukh Khan and Sushmita Sen in Main Hoon Naa. Also, there were many awesome one-liners and some powerful scenes between Esha and Tatsat. Some of the dialogues on the lines of waiting for someone is beautiful, to help cure the wounds, watching when she's not looking and then her catching you all of a sudden, were so beautiful and lively. It is a slow buildup but digs deep into a feeling that's not usual for sure.
Overall, the movie is absolutely realistic with emotions galore. On one side, you see that dreams cannot become a reality for some whereas on the other side, you see that even after knowing that someone is the right one for you, you cannot be with them. Life is extremely fragile. Yet, we dream, knowing very well that we're gonna die one day. It has been shown that not having your own home is such a dreadful thing coz there's absolutely no certainty of where you belong and can call a roof as your own home. Also, it has been shown that sometimes, we fall late in giving back to our special one. At regular intervals, dreams and how they have a world of their own has been shown beautifully in this movie. The old school theory of writing letters and connecting through what-ifs is naive and beautiful, and has been shown aptly in the movie.
Direction by Preet Sinh Gohil is brilliant. He has a style of delivering a story and I sort of like his style. This is a special movie for Gujarati film industry according to me. The level is high, the emotions are heavy and the story is breathing reality all through. Writing is also good. I feel the plot stays in control throughout and doesn't drag away from what's required ever.
Editing by Vaishnavi Krishnan is just how it ought to be. It ain't crisp but that was the need of the hour. The focus was proper on all the stories and the cuts were made properly too. I didn't have any issue with the length because of the connect I had with the movie. Kudos to Vaishnavi.
Casting by Avani Soni is brilliant. All the characters gave their best and were in their role throughout the movie.
Cinematography by Adithya Rajagopalan Nair was commendable. The captures were beautiful, be it the close up captures of the leads or the bigger set up with proper focus. The frames lit up the screen and added to the overall charm of the movie.
Music by Siddharth Amit Bhavsar was really good. While Meghli Saanjh is already ruling the roost, I loved the song at the end of the movie! Uff, those lyrics when combined with the soft tunes, beautiful singing and the scenario in the movie made for a special song. And hey, welcome to Gujarati music industry Prateeksha. What a pleasant surprise to have you sing a Gujarati song! Please sing more, you've done a fabulous job here.
Coming to the performances, my boy Mitra Gadhvi was fantastic. He let his facial expressions do the talking here. That realisation scene wherein he cries eventually was the best for me. He played the role of a common man with big dreams really well.
Deeksha Joshi seemed so natural here. She stood like a rock with her husband and gave a stunning performance. She left a mark for sure with the impactful performance.
Hiten Kumar as Mahadev was brilliant. This is a man who never fails to impress me. He's easily amongst my favourites. His act during the retirement speech was sheer class. He portrayed his role potently.
Kalpana Gagdekar played a very matured role. Her dialogue delivery and expressions were spot on.
Mayur Chauhan as Surya was really good in his role. He looked a natural while playing kabaddi. Also, the crying scene at Dhiraj hospital before the interval is where he stole the show for me.
Tarjani Bhadla is such a natural. She has a small part but leaves a very good impact. She shows the path to Surya and her delivery of the dialogue "Haji Tara Par Etlo Bharoso Nathi Aavyo" is awesome.
Tatsat Munshi as Ram is rock solid. I loved him in the earlier flick of Preet and he is a dependable force for sure. His was a matured performance. Loved how he delivered the "Maari Vaarta Ma Sita Agni Parikhsa To Nahin J Aape" dialogue!
Esha Kansara has stolen the show with a powerful performance here. She had a different and difficult character to play, but she gave full justice to it. I guess this would rank among her finest performances. I loved the clarity in her voice and the subtle honesty of her performance.
Deep Vaidya did a good job again. His dialogue "Jetli Chaadar Hoy Etla J Pag Failavana" is so real.
Rest of the cast also lended a very good support to the main cast.
All in all, this is a really good movie with a lot of reality, brutal realisations, missed chances, regrets, faltering at chasing dreams and eventual realisation and acceptance of being. I would like to rate it 4.5/5.
