Shoot at My Heart is a gripping, emotionally charged ride that surprised me at every turn. Alexandria Watts (Serena) and Jeff Violette (Ethan) deliver powerhouse performances in what might be their best roles to date. I've been a fan of both from previous projects, but this one surpasses anything I've seen them in.
The story follows Ethan, a top-tier sniper who heroically saves heiress Serena from a brutal kidnapping. After the incident, he vanishes from the force, while Serena, inspired by his bravery, joins with hopes of becoming like him. Fast forward five years-Serena is now in SWAT school, and Ethan has fallen on hard times. Their reunion is anything but simple, and what unfolds is a tense, emotional journey of redemption, identity, and trust.
Jeff Violette is exceptional here-his portrayal of Ethan is raw, intense, and heartbreakingly real. You feel his pain, strength, and vulnerability in every scene. Alexandria Watts is flawless, balancing determination and empathy with ease. The chemistry between them is excellent.
The supporting cast is a mixed bag. The conniving fake heiress plays her manipulative role to perfection, but Tad, the SWAT captain, was a weak link. His over-the-top facial expressions were distracting and took away from the intensity of key moments.
Still, this vertical kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. It's intense, constantly evolving, and emotionally resonant. Kudos to the cast, especially Jeff and Alexandria, for delivering such standout performances. An absolute must-see.
