Totally worth watching. Humberto Tortonese is just incredible, he brings such a unique energy that makes every scene he's in unforgettable. There's something really special about how stories are told in films from the Río de la Plata, and this one's no exception. The vibe, the visuals, the acting... everything feels super real and well done. It really his how the movie shows the way older people are treated in our culture - often pushed aside or made invisible - and it does it with so much honesty and emotion. You can tell the whole thing was made with a lot of care and talent. Honestly, it's one of those movies that sticks with you after it ends. Totally worth watching.

This movie was a gem, found by accident on a late night. The story was well told, the actors did a magnificent job, and I was able to actually relate to the problems presented in the movie. The disrespect of elderly this movie describes is still happening - although to a lesser degree - in most modern societies. Luckily, the laws in most countries have been changed to protect elderly people from being mistreated in this way, and the judiciary systems have been made aware of the possible pitfalls of a weak set of laws.

A funny, well acted, interesting and nessecary reminder of these facts...

An excellent movie about senior citizens , their desires and how they are unfairly treated by some family members. It is moving and heart warming. Based on true events in Argentina it is said to have brought about changes in favor of senior citizens. The storyline in brief. Two young women admit their 83 year old mother into a psychiatric institution for dementia much against her wish. While the official reason they give is that she suffers from dementia the actual reason is that they do not approve of her free spirited and happy go lucky way of life. They are also apprehensive of the way she gives away atricles to her friends. The old lady resents the control by the staff of the institution and seeks the help of her bohemian friends to have her released from the institution.

The movie faithfully brings out the fact that senior citizens also have desires and want to enjoy life with freedom to do what they want to do. The acting is excellent and convincing. She ultimately manages to convince her daughters to apologise for sending her to the institution for 27 nights. An emotional and moving story.

When other people - including offspring - decide that an elderly person has reached a sell-by date...

Martha's two daughters want her to be institutionalised - hidden in a home for the mentally unstable - so an expert is appointed to determine her state of mind.

Martha revolts and so do her friends.

"Fiction based on truth", this case brought about a change in Argentinian law. Heart-warming, funny, moving and suspenseful. And the acting is spot on. No Hollywoodisms or insincerity. 8/10.
