Sorry, but there was very, VERY little that was funny about this movie. It's bad enough that there was no Leslie Neilsen, no Zucker/Zucker/Proft writing team and no magic.

To call this The Naked Gun is a travesty. And Seth MacFarlane had NO business being involved with this.

If you're a fan if the original Police Squad series ir the Naked Gun movies, skid this poor imitation.

I won't get into any spoilers. There's no point - you can't spoil something *this bad*.

My husband loves this show, and for the life of me, I can not understand why! This is what you need to know about it:

1) BAD acting. It's like they got subpar actors from some community college workshop! Or maybe it's just because it's Canadian, I dunno'.

2) The writing is unbelievably atrocious. Cheesy, stupid and irritating. The asinine dialogue is enough to make you want to demand that SAG revoke these clowns' cards! I personally want to smack the head writer...and the casting director.

3) The concept and the plot are just a mess.

In short, your time would be better spent chewing on tin foil than watching this cowpie.

Farrell STEALS this series. He's impressive. There is nothing in the character that even hints of Farrell. The NY dialect, the sway and limp, the attitude : you'd swear it was another person. The amazing prosthetics are very realistic and adds to the character.

The show is gritty and graphic. There is nothing cartoonish about it. Well-written and taut. This makes a great counterpart to Christopher Nolan's Batman. In fact, I'd say this blows Marvel's line out of the water.

I'm hoping that their might be a season 2, but I know that this is limited. It's a shame. HBO has a legitimate hit on their hands.
