I don't really care if the acting is bad, that isn't the main part of the movie. The main part is the fighting, and Bloodsport 100% delivers. The film follows the "real story" of Frank Dux, who fights to be accepted into the Kumite, a secret violent martial arts competition that can sometimes result in death. Dux is given the opportunity, and he must fight to survive.
The movie is very focused on the fights, in which some result in death, and some are very brutal to say the least. The final fight between Dux and ruthless champion Chong Li is definitely the biggest one in the movie.
Overall, the film's action puts it at an advantage, in which it makes you forget about the mediocre acting. The movie is fun and somewhat brutal, in which it remains an 80s classic and a big rise in Van Damme's career. I also found the soundtrack to be pretty good. I recommend you watch it for the fight sequences, the training scenes, and Van Damme's signature roundhouse kicks and splits. 9/10.

Steven Seagal's filmography is mixed. While some films he's in can be considered quite good, there are also some that are trash. It seems a lot of his best films were in the early years, and Under Siege is the peak.
Under Siege is his best film in my opinion and many others, and I think there are some good reasons why, in which I'll give a couple reasons why.
The action here is at its best. It isn't exactly explosions every second, but it does have some great action scenes, which is shown best in the final showdown between Steven Seagal (who plays Casey Ryback) and Tommy Lee Jones (who plays William Strannix, who seized control of the ship).
Some people call this Die Hard on a Battleship, which I totally agree with. I also think it puts the film at an advantage. A random place gets seized by terrorists, in which they take the people inside hostage, and one man ends up having to save the day. It works well for this film, and it ends up being fun entertainment.
With Under Siege grossing over 150 million dollars, it isn't too surprising why. The film is the most entertaining, fun, and action packed of Seagal's films, and it doesn't disappoint. No wonder a sequel was made.
