This movie has so much promise. The visuals are really interesting and make for some memorable ghouls. However, the plot is thin to the point of being almost non-existent.

Once you get the main story down and the characters arrive at the house, it becomes a lot of "why would the do that?," "why are they spending the night in this house where X just got possessed and attacked them?," "why is everyone just sitting around through an entire day in this obviously haunted house?"

The answer more often than not is "so we can get to the next planned scare." Which can be satisfying for some, but if you're looking for good scares AND a good story, this might not be the movie for you.
