Watching Mama was a truly eye-opening experience for me. I went into the film expecting a typical horror movie, filled with jumpscares and supernatural thrills. However, this film managed to do something very special. The haunting and eerie atmosphere of the old house definitely provides some spine-chilling moments, but what truly sets Mama apart is its emotional depth. The story centers around Dinda, a young girl grappling with the loss of her mother. The fear she experiences is not just external, from the creepy things that happen around her, but internal, as she struggles with the grief and confusion that comes with such a huge loss. Nafiza Fatia Rani's portrayal of Dinda was nothing short of remarkable; you can see the pain in her eyes, the confusion in her actions, and the vulnerability she carries throughout the story. The house becomes more than just a setting for supernatural events-it represents the emotional turmoil that Dinda faces every day. Watching the film was an emotional journey, one that made me reflect on my own fears and the way we face grief. Mama proves that horror can be more than just fear-it can be a powerful and emotional experience that lingers with you long after the credits roll.
