I am a book fan, a huge huge book fan.
This episode made me cry at multiple times seeing the scenes from my favourite book come to live so vividly.
This isnt just the best wheel of time episode i have ever seen, this is the best episode of fantasy tv that i have ever seen
If you were put off by the weaker early seasons, do yourself a favour and pick this show up - especially if a book fan.
The episode itself focuses mostly on Rand, as is appropriate for the parts of the book being covered.
I dont want to put spoilers in, but this episode puts down a huge amount of book lore, explaining the motivations of the Aiel and how the world came to be as it is today.
Amazing episode.

Amazing episode.
You will still get some purists who will vote down anything but a word for word cut and paste of the books.
However this has been a fantastic start to the show that captured the essence of wheel of time perfectly.
If there is any criticism it is that only having 8 episodes means they have had to fit a LOT Into each episode. Ten episodes would have been better. The pacing is frantic but we do get some very nice character development despite that.
Some of the changes will no doubt enrage book purists, but this has been the most entertaining TV that i have watched in a long time and a huge step up from both S1 and S2. Give it a try!
