One reviewer said that if your spouse loved this film you should probably call you lawyer. They weren't wrong, this film taken for face value is incredibly immoral. If one found themselves rooting for our two main characters they probably need to have a wee look in the mirror! This new film trope of protagonists being morally ambiguous plays for a dissatisfying story. It's just not what stories are made for. I'm seeing it more and more in films. Protagonists we aren't supposed to agree with. This film is Definitley that... although I'm coming around too them. They cause a sort of cognitive dissonance that makes you think about the deeper semiotics of the film. So yes this movie is immoral but it makes you think about what the directors are really trying to say. It isn't sweet! It isn't "the when Harry met sally of our generation" like promos said. It is anything but that. It is not a love story. If anything it is a love horror story, and if you're prepped in the right way you may enjoy this film and you may enjoy picking it apart.

This film is self-important and hyper-dramatic, but not in a way that earns it. Everything-from the art direction to the writing and dialogue-felt like it was invented by a high school theater kid. We're asked to step into a fantasy world that gives no explanation and makes no sense at all.

The characters have no chemistry, no depth. Relationships appear out of thin air with zero build-up, zero writing, zero care. It's one of the laziest movies I've ever seen. Honestly, it even seemed like Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell knew they were stuck in a crap movie.

Save yourself the time. Don't see this one. This movie is BAD.
