I've seen other documentaries on the Thunderbirds, and this one just doesn't cut it for me. Not enough facts about the intricacies of flying in formation or the role of the ground crew, terribly background music, and too many sappy moments.

The flight recordings were great, and the computer simulations helped. Given the importance of the shows throughout demo-season, some light on the logistics of that would have been nice.

I wasn't expecting some Top Gun hyped-up movie, but while it was modestly entertaining and informative, I was hoping for more documentary-type content to learn how the Thunderbirds machine works.

Why? That's the only thing one could ask about this movie.

The book is a stellar page turner, and it made for excellent material to make a movie. The two protagonists of that movie were played by two superb actors, Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman.

This was a mix of ingredients that cooked up a movie that wanted to tell the story. Combine ld with the filmography as well as the supporting actors that intent made it a very genuine, chilling portrait of what (may have) happened at the time for real.

A remake is just that: a remake. It serves no other purpose that to replicate the original. That's a very different intent from the original movie. And it showed, through mediocre acting and lazy filmography. So hence my question: why?

Loved the classical movies like Godfather, Casino, Scarface, and other from that class, so my bar is high, but Gomorra didn't disappoint. In fact, it blew me away.

I'm frankly not a big fan of series, but Gomorra was captivating from the first to the last episode.

Excellent story line, superb acting, magnificently filmed, realistic settings, great musical score, the makers were absolutely firing on all cilinders. After every episode I couldn't wait for the next (and frequently didn't, but binged...), and after each season I was wondering what could be next.

The main characters were realistic and as (dis)likable as required to keep you interested in their affairs.

What strikes me is that the makers never wavered, never dropped the ball in any of the episodes, in fact they hit it (way) out of the ballpark.

They started of with a great book, obviously, but I hope they find new material that they can turn into another quality series.
