Monster hunters who are actually faking things to scam gullible villagers is not a particularly novel idea. Nor is the "twist" that they actually encounter real monsters. With that in mind this movie should have taken that idea, insert original Grimm tales (not the watered down Disney takes) and present that with an original storytelling.

Sadly the movie does none of that and compounds all of that with bad CGI. The fairly tales merely serve as a wink and a nod from director to audience, supposedly funny characters end up being cringe, actors feel like they can barely stand each other.....

A lot of wasted potential here......

On surface the movie has all the elements of a great movie. Solid cast. Norse sage about betrayal and revenge. Tale of pillaging and war. But it fails to mix all of that into a good movie. Acting is subpar. Story makes little sense. Fight scenes are what you'd expect from movie made in 1980s. The long continuous shots jsut show how sloppily background scenes are handled.

In the end I felt bad for everybody involved for wasting their potential and work to make this garbage.

Imagine a soulless multinational corporation. Then imagine a slightly less soulless middle manager. Then her morally upstanding subordinate. Then two talented but nerdy scientists. And a low paying product tester. And that's how you get this show.

It's absurd situation followed by an even more absurd situation. So when two scientists play with syringes instead of darts and somebody gets pricked they accidentally use high energy patch which happens to look like a band aid. And that person is now bursting with energy and keeps doing stupid things. And that's not even the craziest thing they do. Not is hair growth spray that makes a table look like Bigfoot.

Yes, show only had two seasons but it's two seasons of high quality jokes, good acting and dead pan in face of anything but normal situations. Well worth the watch.
