The cast did great playing the new generation of angels. throwbacks were appreciated and the comedy blended nicely into the dialogue without feeling forced at all. the soundtrack didn't really feel out of place except for maybe one or two songs. didn't really like the portrayal of a certain character though. overall enjoyed myself with this one.
Although the story was split through various subplots seeing it all come together made the movie really enjoyable. seeing the antics of each group and how it affected the next added flavor to the already conflicting personalities of each character. the film is funny and the cast did a good job.
Didn't really expect much from this one but it turned out to be pretty fun.
Beautifully made movie that feels very real. the cast did a fantastic job and the situations their characters found themselves in would be the type that I personally never want to be in.
Really enjoyed this movie, it does not shy away from punishing the characters for their actions or being at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Liked it better than the third one and although it wasn't the movie that I had planned to watch I did get some enjoyment out of it
The stakes were raised even higher and this movie definitely delivered, my personal favorite so far from the series.
There isn't really much to say about this one as it pretty much continues to be an action packed adventure that is definitely well done. the stakes are even higher as the choices from the previous film bleed their way into the events that unfold as a response to debts being paid.
Everything was very personal in this movie and it made me root for the character the whole time. This is a really fun movie.
This movie keeps you on your toes the whole time and is a very emotional roller coaster. loved it.
It did a great job wrapping everything up but at the same time it's hard to have the same emotional impact that Infinity War delivered to the table.
Movie was very real with how the situations were handled and it felt really annoying.
Re-watched this one recently and now I remember why it didn't really leave an impression like it's sequels. as the first of the trilogy it had the burden of building the characters and world up, which it failed to do. none of the characters felt fleshed out, leaving the viewer to not really care what happens to any of them. for most of the film you feel as if you're watching a slice of life film instead of a horror one. it finally starts to pickup halfway through the film although the ending doesn't really feel earned and the conflict happens and dies out too quickly as if it remembered it had to happen. the second film did a way better job at being a spin-off film for this important entity of The Conjuring universe.
Good movie but wasn't as engaging as Annabelle: Creation, still worth the watch and you still get a good kick from this one.
Still a great watch but unlike the first one that had you on your toes from what could happen next, this one takes it's time to set up the tricks and magic.
Re-watched this one today and seriously love the writing, visuals and the way the characters were played out.
Solid film with the lead duo's chemistry feeling authentic, their individual arcs were a pleasant experience to watch. Although the presence of Robbie was enjoyed, her story, along with certain other characters, did feel overstretched and at times pointless. The overall payoff was great and ended the film with one of the best endings ever seen.
Really enjoyed this film and seeing the growth of the character.
It's pretty funny and some of the gore is unsettling, still prefer the original but this is a good watch
Looked forward to the long awaited third film of this series and got to say, it's pretty bad. It starts off fine but confusing as the feel of this movie goes from horror to comedy at times. The story is all over the place with the overall payoff being "oh it's old and I guess we'll get it next time, if we're still alive that is." None of the characters did anything worth to be remembered except for the times that they would act "shocked" by what was going on. You could honestly just watch the last 5-10 minutes of the movie and the story would be at least somewhat consistent to previous films but you wouldn't miss much completely skipping this one.
Beautiful movie. re-watched it and still brings a tear to my eye. the emotions and relationships between the characters feels so genuine and it hurts to see certain events play out the way that it does. the film is very engaging.
