Wrong Turn Movies RANKED

Even though I hate most of this franchise, I still really like the original. Great and likable characters, good atmosphere, world building and suspense. This is the movie where they use the hillbillies in a scary way and their design look really good.

This is easily the best Wrong Turn sequel but it's still pretty mediocre. When I binged through the franchise, I hated this one because you could see the nosedive in quality. I rewatched it and appreciated it a lot more. Henry Rollins' character was fun to watch and the kills are great. Other than that, we just have these cliche characters with one character trait. Such as being annoying, a lesbian or whatever. I don't like how they treat the hillbillies in this movie. They humanize them and the inbred side of them is really in your face in this movie. Overall a decent follow-up.

This one is so stupid and goofy but that's what makes it more watchable than the other ones. I do like that it has very unlikable characters which makes it more satisfying when they get killed. There's one kill with a tow truck that is amazing but the rest of the kills are made with cgi which look's awful. I wish we would've seen more hillbillies in this movie because we only got to see Three finger and also his son for a bit. I just miss that family dynamic from the first two movies. I do appreciate that they get back to the tone of the first movie. With a darker atmosphere and the way they use the hillbillies is more similar to the first movie. I was pretty satisfied in the end but then they added 3 different suprise endings that I just hate. It's like everything that they went through in this movie was for nothing when you add that. Overall a pretty terrible movie but it's still entertaining enough.

This is literally the bottom of the barrel. I could appreciate the change of pace with the winter and hospital setting. The kills are actually really good but movie wise, this one is dreadful. These bottom three could all be in last place because they're all pretty awful. I don't like the new backstory that they give us for the hillbillies. I prefer the one we got in 2nd movie even though that one is still not very good. Even though it's a prequel, they don't do the classic prequel which is answe questions that we weren't asking. I can appreciate that. The design for the hillbillies look's trash but that's something we're used to with the direct to video sequels. This movie has some good atmosphere and suspense but that doesn't help the fact that the characters are so insufferable. The women in this movie are so dumb and I don't mean to be a mysogynist but their choices throughout the movie is like dumbest thing they could in that situation. They're responsible for so many deaths and in the end they ended up decapitating themselves by accident. Overall: A garbage movie with some solid kills.

A step-up from the previous installment but it's awful. I do prefer this one over Bloodlines because it actually has a plot. One thing I noticed when I watched this movie is that it plays out like a movie that came out the previous year and that is Texas Chainsaw 3D. The main character inherits a house from a cannibalistic relative and some of his friends are thieves that ends up getting killed in a brutal way. Danny that inherited this place that is a hotel starts of as a normal guy that doesn't really get what's going on and what role he has running this hotel. What it's really about is that Sally, a weirdo perv I guess needs someone to breed with so that their bloodline lives on. And oh, did I mention that she's related to him. Yep, they wan't to continue a family of inbred cannibals. They're not very subtle when it comes to that plot point which they should. This movie just felt nasty to watch. That's because it plays out like a porno because there's so many s*x scenes. We also have scenes where brothers and sisters f*ck and that's just gross. The fact that there's a whole village of inbred people just makes it worse. What this movie have in common with the three last Wrong Turn sequels is that the main characters get's killed and there's no victory earned whatsoever. It makes the movie feel like a big waste of time if nobody wins. Overall: A terrible movie but at least it's not the worst one.

This is one of the worst slashers that I have ever seen. To the movie's credits, it does have Doug Bradley but they don't do anything interesting with him. He's stuck in a prison cell for the whole movie and is just annoying.
