Football. America’s game. Hey, it is. And it has been for quite some time. Oh sure, there’s been amazing portrayals of this sport that have played in theaters through the years, but in the 1970’s and the 1980’s if someone wanted to reach the people, it was through the television (these were kind of like your phone, but way, way bigger and heavier) and the way to reach the American masses back then was through sports, and particularly heartfelt stories about sports, and thus the tv movie about sports. And most American hearts in those days comprised of pigskin. It’s true. The following list is of some of those films that got straight to us like a blitzing linebacker. First and Ten. Third and long. It didn’t matter then and it doesn’t matter now. We go for it every time. Huddle up and enjoy!
