Concerts I have seen

de kevandasc • Creado hace 3 años • Modificado hace 1 mes
I have seen these artists in concert. I'm omitting acts that I've went with someone else sometimes dragged to that I didn't care for. So it;s just acts I've enjoyed.

Dickey Betts & The Great Southern Band performed live at the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame and Museum September 28, 2004. Betts, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 as a member of the Allman Brothers Band, is the first inductee to record a new release live at the Museum. Dickey Betts joined the Allman Brothers Band as second lead guitarist and singer in the late 1960s. In addition to matching bandleader Duane Allman lick for lick, Betts also wrote such memorable songs as "Revival" and the instrumental hit "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed." After Duane Allman was killed in a road accident in 1971, Betts and Allman's brother Gregg shared leadership of the band, with Betts writing and singing the group's biggest hit, "Ramblin' Man." Betts released his first solo album Highway Call, in 1974. The Allmans split up in 1976, and Betts formed Dickey Betts & Great Southern. The Allmans reformed in 1978, with Betts contributing "Crazy Love", "Angeline" and "Straight From the Heart." Betts returned with the Dickey Betts Band (becoming Dickey Betts & Great Southern in 2002) and Pattern Disruptive in 1988. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum exists to educate its visitors, fans and scholars from around the world about the history and significance of rock and roll music. The Museum carries out this mission through its efforts to collect, preserve, exhibit and interpret this art form.

The Rolling Stones join Muddy Waters' band on stage in 1981, at the Checkerboard Lounge in Chicago's Bronzeville neighborhood. Muddy, whose health was declining, dying 1 ½ years later, is sitting down, playing a rather desultory set when the Rolling Stones finally lurch into the club. This seems to fire up Muddy who plays standing up the rest of the show, but needs to urge the Stones, who idolized Muddy, to join him. One by one they do. Muddy beseeches Mick Jagger, who seems the drunkest of the Stones, coming up last to sing with Muddy on several tunes. Guitarist Buddy Guy, who was an owner of the club, joins the group, along with harpist Junior Wells and a fiery Lefty Dizz. The Stones were playing in Rosemont, Illinois on the Tattoo You tour, and this was their night off. The film of the set appeared immediately on bootlegs, but was not issued on DVD until 2012.

"Meat Loaf" Aday is an overgrown Texas youngster, the son of a gentle woman dying of cancer and an alcoholic, abusive father. Tormented by his father and schoolmates over his size, he strikes out on his own after his mother's death, in an impossible task to prove himself to the world and to himself. A chance audition for a musical leads him to join forces with composer Jim Steinman, and together the two make music history with the operatic rock album "Bat Out of Hell." But the demons that drive Meat Loaf aren't assuaged by success, and eventually he must come to terms with them.
