Edgar's landlord wants to sell the house Edgar is renting. He has to come up with the money in two weeks or the landlord will sell it out from under him.

Florence Kennedy (Florence Lake) discovers a mouse in the kitchen and Edgar (Edgar Kennedy) is attempting to capture it. Edgar has a butter knife after the mouse when Florence's mother (Dot Farley) and brother (Jack Rice) come by the kitchen, and they think Edgar is after Florence and call the police. After getting his fingers caught in some mouse traps, Edgar resorts to a shotgun and, of course, blows a hole in the wall. The police appear just as Edgar is plastering up the wall, find Florence's apron in the plaster and believe he has killed her. The situation is resolved by Florence's more-than-timely entrance but, after the police depart, they think the cat has been sealed in the wall and Edgar has to break the plaster again. Before long, Edgar has all the fingers on one hand caught in mouse traps, and uses the other for a slow-burn exit wipe.

Edgar's big mouth gets him in trouble again, as this time it gets he and Florence evicted from their house. This sparks a wild adventure of Edgar trying to find them a new place to live.

Edgar Kennedy has two problems going at once; a feud with a neighboring singer, and a landlord trying to evict Edgar and his family. That Edgar will worsen both situations is a slow-burn foregone conclusion.

After the family leaves for a trip, Edgar rents out the apartment to a troublemaker who likes to throw wild parties.

In a misguided effort to get a raise and promotion from his boss, Edgar Kennedy's wife and her father talk him into leasing a swank house and putting on the ritz. A valet comes with the house and he spends a lot of time trying to soften Kennedy;s rough edges, but when he becomes to insistent about giving his master a bath, the always-irritable Kennedy throws the valet in the hot tub, clothes and all. Meanwhile, his father-in-law has been putting the squeeze on Edgar's boss, telling him that Edsgar has fallen heir to so much money he is going to buy out the business and fire his boss. So the boss comes to Edgars's home and fires him.

Edgar Kennedy plays multiple roles showing how inconsiderate some drivers can be on the road.

Two girls are invited to dinner by the tight boss of the boyfriend of one of them. On the way they stop for a cheap ice-cream, but swinging doors, ventilators, policemen, and a brat make getting the ice-cream even close to the car where the rest are waiting impossible.

A pair of inexperienced and bumbling waiters are hired for an upper-class dinner party.

Neglected by her husband, our heroine decides to make him jealous by getting the handyman to play a literary genius at a party and flirt with her.

Professor Cicero Pu and his dummy Charlie take a trip in the "Spirit of Ammonia" hot air balloon to the stratosphere. After the balloon goes out of control, they land in an unexpected place.

Sitting in a theater box, Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy make comments between the acts of a vaudeville show.

Joe McDoakes, determined to be his own boss in this Joe McDoakes Comedy entry, opens up a new restaurant. Complaining customers and a sanitation inspector who closes the restaurant are just some of Joe's problems.

This Columbia All Star Comedy (production number 9427) finds Gus Shilling discovering that a cranky wife (Dorothy Granger) isn't the worst thing after shell-shocked veteran Dick Lane shows up. Gus invites him to a lamb-chop breakfast---not an appealing breakfast to begin with---and learns that the sound of a whistle sets bells ringing in Dick's head. Whistles, from one source or another, including Gus' wife who isn't all that thrilled about Dick coming to breakfast, start and Dick goes crazy. After a chase Gus is mistaken for the escaped insane man (Cy Shindell)from a local sanitarium and taken away by the doctors.

A father takes his family for an outing, which turns out to be a ridiculous trial.

A tipsy doctor encounters his patient sleepwalking on a building ledge, high above the street.

Leon, not willing to admit he had forgotten the birthday of his wife, tells her he left her present at the office, and she insists he go get it. On the way, a sidewalk salesman sells him a fur coat which Leon learns later had been stolen from his neighbor's wife. He tries to sneak the coat back into the apartment but the husband catches him, and Leon is unable to explain why he is there. A lot of rain must fall in Leon's life, and it does, before everything is resolved... somewhat. He still doesn't have a present for Dorothy, a fact that does not go unnoticed by her.

Leon hires a lookalike to take his place at home every night while he goes out partying.

Salesman Leon Errol joins a polo club to secure an order from a tough-sell member. He manages to gum up the deal for his company and gets fired.
