Bubblestand: SpongeBob blows bubbles. Ripped Pants: SpongeBob accidentally tears his pants.
DirecciónStephen HillenburgAlan SmartEnnio TorresanElencoTom KennyRodger BumpassBill Fagerbakke
Ripped Pants isn't really good imo, but these two episodes are very good at introducing the show too.
  • Bill Fagerbakke and Tom Kenny in Bob Esponja (1999)

DirecciónStephen HillenburgAlan SmartEnnio TorresanElencoTom KennyRodger BumpassBill Fagerbakke
A great episode about SpongeBob and Patrick's friendship and an introduction of Mrs. Puff and the boating school, this is a must watch! It also introduces the "My leg!" gag.

Mermaid Man, Barnacle Boy and Bubble Bass are introduced in this episode, they're decently important characters in the show.
  • Tom Kenny in Bob Esponja (1999)

    7. Bob Esponja

    Episodio:

    Hall Monitor/Jellyfish Jam

    1999– 23mEpisodio de TV
    8.5 (2.1 k)
Hall Monitor: SpongeBob takes his turn as hall monitor. Jellyfish Jam: SpongeBob takes a wild jellyfish home.
DirecciónStephen HillenburgAlan SmartElencoTom KennyRodger BumpassBill Fagerbakke
This one is definitively skippable, but Hall Monitor is one of the best episodes of the season and you will see the inside of the boating school for the first time.
  • Bill Fagerbakke and Tom Kenny in Bob Esponja (1999)

    8. Bob Esponja

    Episodio:

  • Tom Kenny in Bob Esponja (1999)

    9. Bob Esponja

    Episodio:

    Culture Shock/F.U.N.

    (1999)
    1999– 24mEpisodio de TV

DirecciónStephen HillenburgAlan SmartElencoTom KennyRodger BumpassBill Fagerbakke
Nature Pants/Opposite Day is a good episode, but I decided to skip it because it's the most filler episode of the season so far. Culture Shock is a great episode and F.U.N. is the second appearance of Plankton. It also shows Karen having a personality for the first time.
  • Clancy Brown, Rodger Bumpass, Bill Fagerbakke, Tom Kenny, and Carolyn Lawrence in Bob Esponja (1999)

    10. Bob Esponja

    Episodio:

DirecciónAlan SmartStephen HillenburgElencoTom KennyRodger BumpassClancy Brown
After another good filler episode, we get to see the first major role of Pearl in the series, and Employee of the Month is a very funny episode and it will be referenced a few times in the show.
  • Rodger Bumpass and Tom Kenny in Bob Esponja (1999)

    11. Bob Esponja

    Episodio:

Scaredy Pants: Halloween party. I Was a Teenage Gary: Squidward takes care of SpongeBob's pet snail.
DirecciónAlan SmartStephen HillenburgElencoTom KennyRodger BumpassBill Fagerbakke
First appearance of The Flying Dutchman. The second segment is my least favorite of the classic era (first three seasons) but it's not terrible and it has some good parts, so you don't have to watch it at all but I don't think you should skip it.
  • Rodger Bumpass, Bill Fagerbakke, and Tom Kenny in Bob Esponja (1999)

    12. Bob Esponja

    Episodio:

    9.1 (2.3 k)

DirecciónAlan SmartStephen HillenburgElencoTom KennyRodger BumpassBill Fagerbakke
Shows better the SpongeBob/Patrick/Squidward dynamic and the SpongeBob/Sandy dynamic.

Sandy/Patrick dynamic and some very good jokes.
  • Tom Kenny in Bob Esponja (1999)

    14. Bob Esponja

    Episodio:

    Arrgh!/Rock Bottom

    (2000)
    1999– 24mEpisodio de TV
    9.3 (2.5 k)
Mr. Krabs' addiction to a board game SpongeBob and Patrick invite him to play inspires him to bring the two on a real treasure hunt./SpongeBob and Patrick take the wrong bus home from Glove World and get stuck in an unfamiliar place.
DirecciónAlan SmartStephen HillenburgElencoTom KennyBill FagerbakkeClancy Brown
I recommend watching Valentine's Day/The Paper, but it's not a very important or remarkable episode so I'll skip it, but it will appear in the list later. First appearance of Rock Bottom, you will rarely see this place again in the show though. These two episodes are just hilarious.
  • Mr. Lawrence in Bob Esponja (1999)

    15. Bob Esponja

    (2001)
    1999– 25mEpisodio de TV
    8.7 (1.7 k)
Hooky: When the mysterious "hooks" (fishing, that is) suddenly appear in Bikini Bottom, Mr. Krabs warns SpongeBob to stay away from them. Despite Mr. Krabs' scary tales of sea creatures winding up in gift shops or packed cans, Patrick convinces SpongeBob that there's no risk and the boys tempt fate by riding the hooks and jumping off for fun. Mermaidman and Barnacleboy II: SpongeBob wins the big prize from his favorite TV show, "The Adventures of Mermaidman and Barnacleboy" - The Conch Signal! Now he can summon the semi-retired super heroes whenever there's an emergency. Rather than keep getting signals for "emergencies" like opening jars, the duo take SpongeBob along for their patrol to see what real crime fighting is all about.
DirecciónAlan SmartStephen HillenburgElencoJohn LurieJim JarmuschTom Kenny
Hooky is a very memorable and funny episode and this is the second appearance of MM&BB (Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy).
  • Bill Fagerbakke and Tom Kenny in Bob Esponja (1999)

    18. Bob Esponja

    8.8 (1.6 k)
SpongeBob realizes he can't tie his shoes. / Mr. Krabs puts Squidward in charge for a day.
DirecciónWalt DohrnPaul TibbittElencoTom KennyBill FagerbakkeClancy Brown
First episode of season 2, but IMDb thinks this is second for some reason. The Flying Dutchman has another appearance and a very funny episode.
  • Bill Fagerbakke and Tom Kenny in Bob Esponja (1999)

    19. Bob Esponja

    Episodio:

    Something Smells/Bossy Boots

    20. Bob Esponja

    Episodio:

  • Rodger Bumpass and Tom Kenny in Bob Esponja (1999)

    21. Bob Esponja

    Episodio:

    Dying for Pie/Imitation Krabs

    (2001)
    1999– 25mEpisodio de TV
    9.3 (2.1 k)
When Squidward unknowingly gives Spongebob a pie laced with explosives, he attempts to make Spongebob's last day on Earth meaningful. Plankton builds a robot that looks like Mr. Krabs in an attempt to steal the formula.
DirecciónWalt DohrnStephen HillenburgPaul TibbittElencoTom KennyClancy BrownRodger Bumpass
While I think it's overrated, Dying for Pie is a must watch that shows perfectly how Squidward feels for SpongeBob. Imitation Krabs is well known for being rehashed in the future many times, though we will skip half of them.
  • Bill Fagerbakke and Tom Kenny in Bob Esponja (1999)

    22. Bob Esponja

    Episodio:

    Grandma's Kisses/Squidville

    8.6 (1.6 k)
Spongebob gets embarrassed when his grandma kisses him in public. Squidward moves into a gated community for squids.
DirecciónWalt DohrnStephen HillenburgPaul TibbittElencoTom KennyBill FagerbakkeRodger Bumpass
Sorry, I know Wormy/Patty Hype is, without a doubt, a good episode, but it's still filler. This episode introduces SpongeBob's grandma and Squidville is one of the best episodes of the series.
  • Bill Fagerbakke and Tom Kenny in Bob Esponja (1999)

    23. Bob Esponja

    Episodio:

    PreHibernation Week/Life of Crime

    (2001)
    1999– 24mEpisodio de TV
    8.9 (1.6 k)
Pre-Hibernation Week: SpongeBob hides from Sandy. Life of Crime: SpongeBob and Patrick borrow a balloon from a store and accidentally pop it.
DirecciónStephen HillenburgAaron SpringerElencoTom KennyBill FagerbakkeRodger Bumpass
I know this is filler, but Life of Crime can't be skipped, it's an excellent episode. PreHibernation Week is a very fun episode too, but Life of Crime is much better imo.
  • Bill Fagerbakke and Tom Kenny in Bob Esponja (1999)

    24. Bob Esponja

    Episodio:

    Christmas Who?

    (2000)
    1999– 24mEpisodio de TV
    8.8 (1.8 k)
Nobody in Bikini Bottom has ever heard of Christmas or Santa Clause until Sandy lets them in on this surface tradition. SpongeBob wants to bring Christmas to Bikini Bottom this year and his enthusiasm is infectious. Everyone gets into the spirit, waiting for Santa to arrive on the big day. Everyone except Squidward, who has scoffed at SpongeBob the whole while. When Santa is a no show on Christmas morning, everyone blames SpongeBob for getting their hopes up. But in a surprise ending, Squidward uncharacteristically saves the day and Christmas ends up coming after all.
DirecciónWalt DohrnPaul TibbittAlan SmartElencoTom KennyBill FagerbakkeRodger Bumpass
First special of the show, first appearance of Patchy and Potty, more of the excellent SpongeBob/Squidward dynamic, first Christmas episode and one of the best episodes of the show. MUST WATCH FOR SURE.
  • Carolyn Lawrence in Bob Esponja (1999)

    25. Bob Esponja

    Episodio:

    Survival of the Idiots/Dumped

    (2001)
    1999– 25mEpisodio de TV
    8.6 (1.6 k)
Survival of the Idiots: SpongeBob and Patrick sneak into the Treedome. Dumped: Gary goes to Patrick, and SpongeBob becomes jealous.
DirecciónWalt DohrnAaron SpringerPaul TibbittElencoTom KennyBill FagerbakkeCarolyn Lawrence
Survival of the Idiots is an excellent classic and Dumped is one of those episodes many people hate for almost no reason, it's one of the worst segments of the season but it's still funny and it shows us the relationship between SpongeBob and Gary.
