2024: The Bottom Five Worst Films That I Saw In The Theater This Year
Bad movies. I try to avoid them. So, if I know something is going to be bad or I have zero interest in seeing it, I’m not. There may be way worse movies out there, I just didn’t personally see them in the theater. These are the worst films that I did.
Films that didn’t make the Bottom Five this year but are still worth mentioning, fell into two categories: Horrible Horror Films and Super Stupid Sequels. The horrible horror movies that I saw in the theater this year were Night Swim, Imaginary, Tarot, The Strangers: Chapter 1, I.S.S., and Afraid. The super stupid sequels of 2024, were Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, Twisters, and Alien: Romulus. Gen-X, my generation, is the most sentimental generation on record, but how many times can you go back to these old thirty, forty, fifty year old properties and make it something fresh, exciting and new? And then try to match them up with the here and now sensibilities and sensitivities of today? It never works! Just make new stuff altogether, Hollywood! How bout that? Tell us new and original stories on screen in the coming years! That’d be great!
