During the infamous student riots in Paris in spring and summer of 1968, Anderson was one of about seven members of the Living Theatre to occupy the Odeon Theatre for a week. Various open discussions and confrontations occurred on a 24-hour basis there until the troupe moved on. They were never charged with any crime and soon returned to America.
