Kevin James Hogan

Kevin is a Writer-Director, Producer and Editor based in Los Angeles. Born and raised in Cleveland, he first caught the film bug as a teenager when he discovered the films of Hitchcock, Welles, Scorsese, and Lean. With his love of history and literature and the novels of Fitzgerald and Shelley, he banded together a group of classmates to make his first film and wrote articles and short stories for his high school newspaper and literary magazine. At college, his passion for cinema became an obsession. He rifled through film books at the library and snuck into classrooms at night to watch movies and further his study of the great masters - Antonioni, Kurosawa, Kubrick, Hawks, and Wilder, in particular. He made several ambitious student films, including the mockumentary "The Next Spielberg" about a delusional hack young director.

After graduation, Kevin moved to Los Angeles. He wrote, directed, produced, edited, and financed the short neo-noir crime drama "In the City", starring Reynaldo Pacheco (Warner Bros. "Our Brand is Crisis"). Shot on location in and around Downtown LA, "In the City" premiered at the Nuart Theatre in West LA and was an 'Official Selection' at the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival. Kevin recently adapted the short into a feature of the same name, which he will direct and produce. He is now in the packaging stage.

Kevin recently completed the short comedy-drama, "Secret Honor".

His feature script "Mesmerize", a character study about the many lives of a sphinxlike young woman, was chosen as a finalist in the American Zoetrope Screenplay Contest.
