Serial Pranksters ...

Harpo Marx : The zaniest of the Marx Bros (which is saying a lot) the virtuoso harpist with blonde culry hair, a trademark horn had and oh so many tricks up his sleeve (literally), the comic icon was an obvious starter for the list.

Bugs Bunny : While Jerry Mouse and Screwy Squirrel often crossed the line, good old Bugs never went as far as bullying Elmer 'Doc' Fudd and other opponents, he was smart and jovial enough to be called a merry prankster ... even though with Daffy, he was sometimes, quite a stinker, wasn't he?

Bart Simpson : There's still debate whether his prank calls owe their success to Bart's creativity or Moe's stupidity, but if he comes in close second, it's definitely for the unforgettable 'April Fool' beer can prank that sent Homer Simpson right to the hospital.

The Joker : And I mean the Nicholson one, less gritty and dark than Ledger's but zanier, wittier and closer to that clown-persona which makes his inclusion inevitable. He got a bit extreme but none of his victims ever complained about his 'pranks'?

Jim Carrey : The quintessential prankster, whether being part of his pet detective work, the Mister-Hyde side of his introvertive personality or the expression of his good (Lloyd) or evil (Riddler) nature, he also played Andy Kaufman, a real-life prankster, and was victim of the ultimate prank in "The Truman Show".

Junior : Whether making his babysitter the unwitting heroine of a homemade porn show or turning a carnival ride into a gigantic barforama, Junior never cared for good taste while even Bart Simpson knew his limitations.

Jokey Smurf : (yes that's him in the picture), besides his trademark explosive gifts, he had more than one trick up his sleeve. And his finest hour will always be him bringing back the Smurfs' sense of humor by shedding the first laugh in a special episode.

Eddie Haskell : Don't let yourself fooled by his good manners and well-groomed facade, Wally Cleaver's best friend is forever remembered for his plots and schemes meant to make the others look bad or foolish, which can be regarded as innocent pranks from today's perspective.

The MASH team : Just because you hold a serious position, take care of people in a serious condition, and are in a serious situation, doesn't mean that you've got to be serious all the time, especially when you make pranks that would make feminists throw up.

The Delta Fraternity : The pioneers of drunken-toga parties deserves some credit for making the only pranks based on true memories... and who could think leaving a dead horse in a dean's office would still translate well into our politically correct generation?

Malcolm and his brothers : Each one had redeeming qualities, but they often combined their efforts for the worst. The picture is from the last episode revealing their worst prank : faking an X-ray of their mother having cancer to sneak away with bad report cards.

Amelie Poulain : To be honest, Amelie should be more of a 'trickster' since she always acted out of kindness, but we're glad she made an exception with Mr. Collignon, using her ingeniosity to reveal a slightly darker side of her personality.

Wesley T. Owens : 'Mr Belvedere' would have probably sunk into oblivion if it wasn't for the brilliant performance of Christopher Hewett as a distinguisged English butler and the scene-stealing Brice Beckham as an underrated pre-Bart Simpson figure.

The Police Academy team : One the famous (or infamous?) franchise running gags was the constant pranks they were putting on the two Lieutenants Harris and Mauser. Pranks, then pranksters, so they got to be there (sorry, I'm out of inspiration)
