Assassin's Creed: Rogue

Rogue was basically black flag part 2. This is a great game in the saga and is totally under rated with such a different story to the other games. Good story, well animated, essentially a different point of view entirely.

This game is honestly one of the best games in the series. A close competitor of AC 2. It's so much like Black Flag and yet so much better. If it would have been a bit more longer, I would have loved it.

Probably the most interesting character with a solid story just a shame it was so short could have done with a few more sequences atleast. Scenery and general adventure of the location didn't have me so eager to complete all the side missions unlike black flag. Nevertheless still a very solid game.

Assassin's Creed Rogue is often overlooked, sandwiched between the release of Black Flag and Unity, but it deserves way more recognition. This game takes the classic AC naval formula and flips the script by putting you in the boots of Shay Patrick Cormac, a former Assassin turned Templar.

What makes it stand out is the unique perspective. Playing as a Templar instead of an Assassin adds a fresh twist to the series. Shay's character arc is compelling, and his motivations feel more personal and relatable than many other AC protagonists. The game also excels at storytelling, making you question both sides of the Assassin-Templar conflict.

The naval gameplay is as satisfying as ever, with ship combat and exploration feeling like an evolution of Black Flag. The icy waters and new environmental challenges add some variety. Plus, the connections to AC III and Unity make it a great piece of the franchise's overarching narrative.

On the downside, Rogue is relatively short, and a lot of its mechanics feel like a direct reskin of Black Flag. If you played that game extensively, this one might not feel as fresh. Also, since it was designed for last-gen consoles, it doesn't have the graphical polish of Unity, though the remastered version helps improve this.

Despite its flaws, Assassin's Creed Rogue is a must-play for any AC fan. If you love the naval combat of Black Flag and want a different take on the Assassin-Templar war, it's absolutely worth your time.

Unlike other assassins creed games, this game only has 6 sequences. Six is not enough for a story with such potential; an assassin turned Templar. A lot of information was thrown at me all at once and it tried its best to connect assassins creed 3 to 4 but it just happened too quickly.

Another thing is the maps, it has 3 large maps and the story does not naturally make you explore all of the map. Leaving huge amounts of unexplored areas wasted by the end of the story.

Apart from those criticisms, the game is still very fun to play, the game mechanics are fluid as any assassins creed game and the side activities are generally quite fun despite being a bit of a grind at the end.
