Cam Closer

I enjoyed the mechanic but the end was pretty obvious in my opinion. The concept was good and what i have found different in this one its the lack of sound design and the pretty obvious end. But good nothing more.

'Cam Closer (2013)' is a horror short in which a woman discovers her phone camera can detect things she can't see with her naked eye, or vice versa. The picture is mostly an exercise in suspense, essentially building up to one big scare in its final few moments (which is often the case with these one-scene horror films). The concept is fantastic, though it isn't quite used to its full potential, and the effects are subtle enough to be (generally) believable. It has a decent sense of atmosphere to it, too. It's a tad slow, though, and its final reveal isn't all that satisfying. Still, it's a solid effort, especially for something under three minutes long. 6/10.

Cam Closer is a short horror film by David Sandberg, the creator of Lights Out and Pictured.

Within this short horror film, our main character tries to take an aesthetic photo to post online, only to find her apple is not showing on camera. Looking around the room, she finds an unconscious body on the ground of her apartment, and is obviously shocked. What comes next is pure suspense.

I paused this way too much for a two minute horror short. This was brilliant. Sandberg really built up the suspense in this. My heart is still pounding now. The effects in this were absolutely spectacular and this may now be my favourite Sandberg short film to date.

This was terrifying and I'm definitely a little more paranoid now, looking around my house. A solid nine out of ten and a definite recommendation.

It is a great short film. and this is far to be surprising. because it does not propose only a story but impecable special effects and tension, reminding the doubts about the real side of things front to our senses. and this is the basic virtue of each short film of David Sandberg.absence of the desire to impress his public. but to give the right story about each viewer deep fears.Cam Closer is an admirable example.

The total lack of music (And more importantly, the lack of any explanation) is part of what makes these small horror shorts by David F. Sandberg so effective, adding to its eeriness.
