The ending of this movie was obvious from the title. Throughout the movie, the acting was kind of cringy and the Montgomery family was concerning. The mother was very self-absorbed and there were some points during the movie were I actually felt bad for Joe, the father. Alexander and Jennifer were fine characters, but they had absolutely no storyline. The best character was definitely Judith. The message was really sweet, but poorly executed.
This movie is clearly a B movie. And it is as good as a B movie now is.
Judith comes across as unfair towards Charles. They're both to blame for their faulty marriage but Judith gives Charles all the blame. This makes her come across as a bit of an annoyance.
And then we have Emily. She serves as the narrator in a way and we see the movie from her perspective. I can not comprehend how it's possible to make a character that annoying. I really wish she wasn't the one narrating but eh it's okay if you're fine with loud attention-seeking kids.
Regardless of the sometimes annoying characters this story really had potential. And it's even fairly enjoyable. It would probably have been better if they did not absolutely over explain the ending as if this movie was intended for 2 year olds AND drop massive hints that reveals it pretty much right away. But still it's a rather cute family Christmas movie that is worth a watch... Maybe.

Wow this movie sucked. It was so awful I could not turn away. Bad acting, worse script yet highly compelling. Characters are soooo fake. Merry Cringemas everyone!
Only irritating part is the youngest girl. She must have been on helium before this film....the director should have took her aside and explained. I know she's in a lot of these films but she puts you off the film.
The other actors play their parts well.
The story had huge potential but the execution was terrible.
The major characters of the Montgomery family were overplayed. My major impression of Judith was hiding in the background, if not in her bedroom, whining. We could have gotten the point that Charles was feeling the pressure with half the phone calls and running out the door. Jaeda Lily Miller is way cute, but even she overplayed the cute a little.
Scenes with the blue screen were clumsy and obvious. A scene where the family is walking in snow shoes is also clumsy. Among other things, the whole family walks a straight line, then turns a right angle and walks toward the camera, all of this in a totally open and flat field of snow.
The message at the heart of the movie was a good one especially for the holiday season. There are touching moments as a result. There was nice twist at the end, but even that is executed clumsily. It was good that the movie provided foreshadowed clues for the twist. I'm not sure if they provided too many clues.
