Touching - Serena actually human?
Emotional and deep- all these women should sweep every award this season.
The best episode!!!
This is my best episode by far!!! I loved it so much I decided to watch it again and again!!!!!
Outstanding
Just when you believe the series has given you everything you can hope for, an episode like this comes along and you are not able grasp how they can make it better. It was a combination of heartbreak, suspense, drama like no other I can recall. Every scene was a small masterpiece with a purpose. Not a single second was lost in inconsequential drama. If you have not seen the series and want to know why it Is one of the best out there, this is the one episode to watch.
Fantastic episode
Every female in this episode is suffering because of men who have the power to call the shots and do as they please! It was so sad, made me so angry and frustrated! The 'wonderful' Gilead that Serena helped to create has come back to hit her in the ass!
Pacing is unbearable
I like introspective shows. Rectify for example was full of scenery and subtext that reflected and illuminated emotional worlds. Rectify also was known as a show with slow pacing but I was never bored. I usually like The Handmaid's Tale but most this episode is anguished staring and facial expressions. You do get some great images like The Commander talking to June thru a nearly fully closed door, tremulous, torn yet desperately trying to maintain his authoritarian presence. Yes there other moments that are striking but I found this pacing to be impossible to engage with. The plot needs to move and not left to rot in it's own moroseness

- TriviaJune says (in voiceover), "Someone once said, 'Men are afraid that women will laugh at them. Women are afraid that men will kill them.'" This quote is generally attributed to Margaret Atwood, though the piece of writing by Atwood that most resembles it is somewhat different and less succinct. In her essay collection 'Second Words: Selected Critical Prose, 1960-1982', what Atwood wrote was: "'Why do men feel threatened by women?' I asked a male friend of mine....'I mean,' I said, 'men are bigger, most of the time, they can run faster, strangle better, and they have on the average a lot more money and power.' 'They're afraid women will laugh at them,' he said. 'Undercut their world view. Then I asked some women students in a quickie poetry seminar I was giving, 'Why do women feel threatened by men?' 'They're afraid of being killed,' they said."
- ErroresSerena recommends a neonatologist for baby Angela, who is 10 months old. A pediatrician would be more likely to care for an older baby. However, due to the limited availability of certain professionals within the gender role restricted Gilead, this may be the only specialist available.
